As expected, this part was a pain to work on. My main goal was trying to make the Roxas fight unique and even more emotional than normal, although the game already delivered that by itself. I did customize some stuff here and there and wanted it not to look like the usual fight we're so used to.
It was also very important to me manually adding Roxas's battle quotes, as I wanted him to sound just like the version we've been seeing for the 358/2 Days HD portion.

I also wanted to avoid the so much overused Roxas's theme for this part. As much as I love it, it plays kind of way too often, for a very long time.
Next up, the big finale! I've got a few ideas about it. If those work out as I'm intending to, it'll be amazing.

About KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE:

KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is an incredibly massive project I've been wanting to do forever. The only thing that was stopping me from actually working on it was the still-incomplete plot of the χ[chi] portion of the whole saga, which is also the most confusing one. However, I did want to deliver this before the release of KINGDOM HEARTS 3, so we could have the perfect road to the final chapter of the Xehanort saga at our disposal and relive, together, all of the chapters in a definitive and never-seen-before way.
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is, in fact, different by any other playthroughs or projects around because it is composed of all the Kingdom Hearts titles released so far placed in chronological order. Beware – the events are actually settled chronologically. Which means that every single cutscene and/or gameplay part will follow the exact order of the events of the saga. For instance, the birth of Vanitas will be shown before the Mark of Mastery exam, and so on.
Every episode will start with a screen showing a complete timeline I created purposely for this project.

KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE doesn't want to be a simple movie made of cutscenes. If It were to be like that, there wouldn't be anything special about it. This project actually started as a playthrough, giving, of course, priority to story content.
Sitting and watching a 25 minutes video made of cutscenes we've been watching for a decade is just as boring as anything else. Gameplay bits have been thoughtfully placed to make sure you won't fall asleep when watching, giving their contribute for a more immersive experience. They are necessary for keeping people interested and entertained in a never-seen-before way to re-live the saga, watching multiple characters fighting at the same time, as well as showcasing the worlds and the variety of enemies we'll encounter through all the titles.

Finding the right balance is not easy and not always possible –due to countless technical restrictions related to music, episode length and such– just as it's not easy having everyone thinking alike. Of course, I can't make everyone happy, but I did want to point this out.

Lastly, I want you guys to know that the amount of effort being put for this is massive. There are countless hours of work and dedication I've spent (and still spending) for this, for something we all love and care about. My channel is, after all, always been made of this – content that will grant you one of the best levels of knowledge and enjoyment of the Kingdom Hearts saga – and, as much as it's stressful having to translate every Japanese Union χ [Cross] episode, I still do that to deliver the latest story updates of the saga for you.
My main goal is working as much professionally as I can and add details where normally people wouldn't add. Not liking a content is totally fine, whereas insulting and posting offensive comment is not. There is nothing worse than spending your own time to show dedication for something we all love and see offensive reactions coming back at you. For this whole project to be completed, suggestions and questions coming from fans are well accepted and needed. If you do think this deserves appreciation, leaving a Like on the video is more than enough to me. Thank you for reading all of this, and please enjoy!

Man, hearing Mickey & Ansem talk together in these cutscenes really breaks my heart knowing these really talented actors are no longer with us. RIP Wayne Allwine & RIP Christopher Lee.

It’s nice to see the Roxas fight not ruined by Decisive Pumpkin for once.

Xigbar: Hello Roxas. Sora: I am not Roxas. Xigbar: Goodbye Roxas. Sora: I am not Roxas.

You know what it is crazy? After all this is done you realize Everglow didn’t have to do this and could’ve easily stopped. But man you kept going and were consistent with your vision of the Kingdom Hearts story. All I can say is simply thank you for all this hard work you put in every single day. 🔥💯

    What a perfect way to lead to the reveal Final Form! 10:08 YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY WITH MY EMOTIONS THIS WAY I would never have thought of using Lazy Afternoons here, but it's so perfect 37:43 <3 <3 <3 ;_;

“Xehanort. Foolish apprentice of a foolish man. You have surpassed nothing — only proved how little we both know. We may profess to know the heart, but its essence is beyond our reach. We’re both ignorant — as oblivious as when we began. I’m afraid that any world you try to create... Any world of yours... would be an empire of ignorance. That is why you and your creation are destined to fall!” Oh MAN I love this game so much, just deep moments like this are why I love this series so much.

The timing of the Dearly Beloved during Sora's reunion with Riku was perfect! I also liked how Sora's battle with Roxas pretty much gave visual lore as to how he obtained Final Form naturally
  • - 9:52 Roxas: "Oh, right, it can do that. It's all coming back to me now." - Out of all the original worlds in Kingdom Hearts, The World That Never Was is probably my favorite. The ominously silent city streets with the crashed truck and empty buildings combined with the flying gray castle beautifully designed in a futuristic cryptic way with the view of the heart-shaped moon in the background. Let's not forget how it was used throughout the series. It was the setting of that awe-inspiring secret ending in the original, it was the main hub area of 358/2 Days, it has the final battles in KHII, and then there's Dream Drop Distance. What helps is the moments that happen here. Sora and Roxas finally meet face-to-face while they're both awake, Sora, Riku, and Kairi are finally reunited, Saix steps it up as a big-time villain, and Ansem the Wise redeems himself (which is sadly the last we'll hear of Christopher Lee in Timeline).

Dude, you gave Roxas a somewhat happy ending, just by changing the music. Hats off to you, sir.
  • That cut-off of Xion's voice at 51:56 was heart wrenching. It's the little things like these that make me glad to watch these videos.
  • @Rople50
Dat HUD during the Roxas fight tho.
  • @jakeneos
Everglow is actually gonna get this done by KHIII release, we salute you

I remebered why the Roxas vs Sora fight is my favourite fight after all but you… you made me cry like never before because of all those Feelings and that my heart is now full of joy! The menu with the Clock Tower of Twilight Town, the sea Shell of Xion, the ice cream, the Music and of Course the use of every Drive Form... I have to thank you so much for making these fight unique and Special not only for me but for the community <3

You know... Kingdom hearts suffers slightly in terms of language barriers. The animation goes along with the japanese language but when translated, the wrong things are given inappropriate gestures. For instance, lets look at xigbar at 28:51: Japanese is Subject-object-verb (i you love) whereas english is subject-verb-object (i love you). Translated to the same configuration as japanese sov, xigbar says something like: "You traitor, i am telling you, you time is up!" With the motions, in japanese, it makes perfect sense because he says "you traitor" then says "i am telling you" POINTING at sora, "time is UP for you" making that motion at the end with when he would emphasize the "up" bit. So kh suffer from that a little bit and thats why xignar is such an awkward character. Nothing he does matches what he says lol.
