This man was the heartbeat of a team that won 11 Premier Leagues and Two Champions Leagues. Can people please try to remember this the next time they make Lampard or Gerrard argument. Scholes is a generational player. He really was in a league of his own.

"How do you want to be remembered" ? "Don't care" Best answer.

Barca fan here, xavi himself said Scholes was one of the players he looked up to. He could play long, short, one touch, could carry, could shoot, could play the final ball. Man came out of retirement and didn't miss a beat ffs.

It’s 10 years later and we still can’t find his replacement, our midfield is shit. That’s how much of a gem he was
  • There's a reason Zidane, Xavi and Iniesta call him massively infliental on themselves. Absolute class player!

I've just learned more about Paul Scholes in 8 minutes than I have in my entire life
  • @pablopablo3834
He had so many of those "I'll do it by myself moments" and just went wild and usually if he scored it was a highlight reel kind of goal.
  • I remember Man united struggled in the first half of 2011-12 season because of Scholes's 1st retirement. Then how he transformed the team in the 2nd half of that season (nearly win the league) and of course win the 2012-13 PL when United sign another deadly striker (Van Persie). Just miss how he pinged the ball from 25m - 30m to wingers like Cr7, Nani, Valencia to run, it was so smooth and so easy.

He also had one of the fastest brains in football, he was aggressive, he was intelligent. He was more than just a technical player, way more.

A central midfield pairing of Scholes and Keane at their best – completely bossing the game!

Scholes, Xavi, Pirlo. No one dictates the tempo of a match like these geniuses did today. Modric is the closest in my opinion

Scholesy was the complete cm\attacking midfielder. Intellgent distribution of the ball, impervious to a hard press, pinpoint defense breaking passes, control of the tempo, calm under pressure, lethal from range and the heart of a freaking lion. People forget that he would get stuck in and fight for the team, just like Keano. Maybe even learned from Keano. If one of the lads got hit, Scholesy would have a clattering reply. If we went down a goal, Scholesy would continue working away unfazed, if not spurred on to attack. We had a real character in Scholesy and they're in really limited supply now.
  • Startet football at 11,and was a terrible shot Then I got really fascinated by the way Scholes hits the ball, with so much raw strength and still be able to shoot,in a straight line 9 out of 10 times I practice his motions (Lost multiple balls to rooftops in the process) And was finally able to score for the first time,in a game (It was a banger, from far outside the box) Thx Paul Scholes 4 teaching me how to hit that thing ⚽️

In an around the oppenents box, he was a master. All teams panicked when Scoles set the tempo. He had almost the same amount of a fast reaction instinct as Inzagi.

Honestly our best midfielder ever! My favourite player growing up. He came through the ranks, earned his position in the first team, dominated the game and retired being loyal to our club and fans. Legend! ♥
  • @glynmacs7603
What Man Utd need is a player similar to Scoles. Bruno isn't the same, Paul didn't lose focuse or desire. His desire was almost always fierce.
  • @ik6261
That’s why all the legends say he was the best by far… He had it all was a pleasure watching all your career MR Scholes 👏
  • @palerider7353
A king on the pitch but a ghost off it. Was a great professional. Lampard and Gerrard got more hype but Scholes was the best imo.

I wouldn't call Scholesy underrated. All of us United fans love him.Park ju Sung is the definition of underrated. He played a crucial role in the 1999 ucl semifinal but was excluded from the finals squad and Ferguson has said he regrets that till date .Ferguson believes we might've defeated Barca if Park was asked to stop Messi .This guy single handedly stopped Maldini.Truly a legend worth mentioning. Was a big game player for us.He sacrificed his career for us as the roles he were often used in coupled with his knee which was often injured ended his career. He always turned up and also scored often in big games.
  • @mchandsome1
Undeniably one of the very best midfielders ever.
