Plenty of rock stars give it their all when they’re on stage, only to hop in a limo and put just as much energy into partying.

Partying with rock legends sounds like it would be fun — until it isn’t. Some rockers have simply not known when to quit, and their addiction problems have led them to embarrass themselves in front of their bandmates, friends, or even a TV audience.

From the Replacements guitarist whose problems became evident while performing on Saturday Night Live to the various drug problems of Fleetwood Mac, let’s take a look at some rockers who partied way too hard.

  • @GrungeHQ
Would you party this hard if you were a famous rock star?
  • Mick Fleetwood snorted an 8-ball a day for TWENTY YEARS?!? Are you freakin kidding me? That dude must have a heart made of steel.
  • Ace never "grumbled" his way through that interview ! He made that interview worth watching !
  • @Bama_Girl
What the hell!?!? Where's Motley Crue? Nikki Sixx died twice!
  • It was funny to see Gene all grumpy while Ace was just having a drunken blast 😂
  • It's funny how Ozzy Osbourne is not on this list lol
  • If you looked up "Rockers Who Partied Way Too Hard" in the dictionary, you'd see a photo of Bon Scott (The man who wrote and performed AC/DC's greatest songs). He was Rock'n' Roll, and a top bloke with a heart of gold. R.I.P. Legend....
  • No mention of Ozzy's partying days. He was once so drunk he pissed on the Alamo and banned from San Antonio for 20 years.
  • Ive been a guitar player for around 28 years... something like that. Anywhoo I can say that touring is what led me to drinking 24/7 that almost killed me. 2 strokes and a mild heart attack from withdrawals and over 24 seizures. I feel twice the age I am and it took quite awhile to re learn the guitar. I dont know how some of these musicians have lived as long as they have. All i can say is moderation. The party doesnt have to be all day every day. Once you lose interest in the guitar and the partying becomes the main goal its a tough climb back. To this day im either engaged in the guitar or im not, partying also messed with my relationships with family and loved ones etc. Just be safe people and know the party is actually in the music and performing it. ;-)
  • I had a buddy who managed a bar/club in Phoenix back in the 80s. He told me Stevie Nicks walked in with an entourage, grabbed a table and started doing lines right there. He said he ran up and told them to stop of he would toss them and was assured everything was cool and they wouldn't do it any more. Five minutes later he had to toss them out of the bar...
  • Steven is right, I loved the party lifestyle for about 5 years and I was like this shit is getting old I gotta clean up I have been 8 years sober!
  • Amy Winehouse was not a rocker. It's not like you're short of potential entries here. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, John Bonham, Steve Clark, Bon Scott etc, etc. Oh and Keith Richards.
  • Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode. Women, drugs, OD & died for 2 minutes, was resuscitated, brought back to life and happy to report is clean today
  • How is Dime not on this list?? LITERALLY so much evidence and video of him black out drunk in the Pantera home movies!
  • Who wouldn't party like a rockstar? Going thru life in this day and age is about as bad as it gets.
  • I still Fucken love Stevie Nicks. Stage presence voice looks and aura. Love her.
  • Seven-mile-long line of Coke... That is an amazing stat!! And this is a great post, Grunge. One of your best -- well done.
