Drumeo, please invite Sean Kinney of Alice In Chains to play some of his iconic songs for us. Great sense of humor, charismatic. Underrated.

That's what makes Charlie so good. He could 1000% put his own spin on this and other Pantera songs, but he respects what Vinnie did. He keeps the song sounding like we've all been listening to for decades.

This dude is brilliant. Not ego tripping, respecting the music to the max. Him emulating Vinnies signature laid back feel is something to aspire to.

I cannot imagine a better replacement than Charlie, and the respect he puts playing the original parts with the same feel and without adding useless stuff says everything about his attitude. Love you Charlie ❤

That southern metal groove that Vinnie brought is what got me into metal. Rip to the Abbott family.

Vinnie was the king of playing 'behind the beat', and to me is like 90% of what made him so great. You have to toe that line, get as close and squeeze out as much groove as you can before spilling over into playing early the next beat. It's essential to this style of metal.

I can tell how much he respects Vinnie and the source material…. I know many people were angered by the tour but it was kick ass. I have seen the original in 2000 and the tribute version and 2023 and both were kick ass… I’d see them again. Sorry, purists, but it was a great time.

Keeping his sight line clear between him and Rex tells you all you need to know about his commitment to the band and its fans! Charlie was also a great drummer for Anthrax since the very beginning and definitely deserves this gig.

So cool that drumeo has all these big drummers come on and break down great songs, awesome video

Said it before and I’ll say it again…..Charlie was 100% the perfect man for this. He’s a stellar drummer who most certainly has the chops to do it but his respect for Vinnie not only as a fellow drummer but also as his friend just makes perfect sense and why Charlie worked so hard to do it justice (which he absolutely does) I was fortunate to see Pantera numerous times back in the day and went to see two shows of the recent tour with my teenage son. And I gotta be honest….it was surreal and emotional at times to hear that music played live again and for me Charlie is what makes it work so well. I don’t believe in the after life or things of that nature but man….it sure felt like Vinnie was being channeled through Charlie up on that drum riser…..it sounded exactly as I remembered Vinnie sounding all those years ago.

I saw the original lineup live quite a few times in the late 90s and early 2000s, and I saw this tribute version last year. The best compliment I could pay to Charlie is that I didn't even notice Vinnie wasn't there. He was spot on, and this attention to detail is why. I wish Zakk put in this much effort to sound like Dime, as he is more than capable. Phil actually sounded better than the last time I saw Pantera in the 2000s.

Not an easy seat to fill by any means. Much respect to Charlie! Killing it.

This Entire Memorial Tour thing has brought so much excitement and happiness to the music scene and myself. So glad they are doing this and RIP to the Abbot Brothers
  • @circlesplitter
Charlie is such a great drummer!! Vinnie would be proud
  • @Cmart50
that cymbal hit ending the solo, idk why i never thought of that, its a stick "choke" i gotta try that!
  • @bacongl
Absolutely nailed it. Of course there are no surprises there. Charlie is a pro. Very much a drummer with a killer ear. He does it justice.
  • @TheEnderBand
Vinnie had an incredible pocket- everything felt slightly behind the beat but at the same time absolutely spot on. His parts were absolutely perfect and he never wasted a note; everything was exactly as it needed to be. Not to mention a super unique and aggressive drum sound that's immediately recognizable. Criminally underrated drummer
