lol!!!! You are surrounded by woods in the summer heat, but you put the tent in the full sun AND made it a greenhouse by removing the panels. Of course it’s going to heat up inside.🎉🎉
  • The keys to summer camping in the heat is putting your tent in the shade, having cross ventilation, and lots of cold beverages/snacks.

South Texan here. I leave to go camping in 2 days. I’m going to Colorado and will camp around 9,000’ altitude. That’s how I camp in the summer.
  • It's really good of Chester to include his servant in these videos, getting him to inflate the tent and observing proper exercise and meal routines.

Evaporative coolers really only work when you're not somewhere already humid. They will make it more humid though. A regular old fan might be more helpful.
  • As someone who has spent their whole life in a part of the US where our summer catch phrase is "It's not the heat, it's the humidity" - and we're talking about 100 degree actual temp heat - the trick is to camp next to spring fed rivers. That helps significantly in keeping camp cool. We also use very light weight gear that is light in color. No black or dark colors!
  • This was definitely a needed video for me, I lost my best friend and baby boy just before father's day he wasn't even 10 years old and perfectly happy healthy 85lb puppy we took him up to our cabin and he had what the doctors believed was a stroke or something neurological happen his entire rear quarters went paralyzed and couldn't control his bladder or bowels and he was in a lot of pain. I couldn't allow my boy to suffer like that we tried for a week of him being hospitalized and treatments didn't help and there was nothing else the doctors could do. It's been extremely devastating he was always here by my side and cheering the Bruins on and he was an amazing member of the family. Love your videos that you 3 do, always a great time and stay as positive as possible. Great seeing Chester Is doing well and very happy. I needed a bit of happiness even if it was hot and buggy out it's still a good time spent together, that's all that matters. Much love and respect to you and your family!
  • A reflective tarp that is much bigger than the tent and suspended over it to provide shade, and a way to pass hot air out of the tent and bring in cool is probably the only way to have a cool tent on such a miserably hot day.
  • shading the tent makes a huge difference…. along with a decent generator and portable AC unit. I do this in Oklahoma’s summers with a canvas tent but it’s gotta be in the shade to really work well.

I always camp in the Colorado high Rockies in the summer. This weekend was 68⁰F in the bright sun and 34⁰ in the dead of night. Absolutely perfect camping weather. My pooch likes it more than I do!

Not that I had particular faith in the Arctic Air keeping it cool in there, but you should have closed all of the flaps to keep the sun from creating a greenhouse effect inside the "cabin". Good idea having the dog as your second camera-man. :)

How about putting ceiling shades back on and then 50 percent shade cloth over top! Love the couch!

A damp towel or rag to bathe your body with in front of a fan helps cool you down when no air conditioning is present. I learned this in the Saudi desert. We love the channel. Thanks!

You can tell how well you treat your doggo by how much he loves you.
  • @miks3263
I didn't expect it to be cooler inside when you left the ceiling panels open. It would warm like a green house
  • Brother, I’m in the south. Recently quit my job as the conditions were 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Being soaking wet by 7:45 AM makes you envy YouTubers like yourself that get to do it by choice. Definitely not saying you deserve to be hot though. This stuff STINKS! Anyone that wants a mid 30s electrician in the north…. Just say when! I’ll take the snow lol
  • @gypsylizzy8893
You are brave - There is absolutely no way I will camp in the summer unless I'm hooked up with electricity. Love the video
  • @arrants6254
South Carolina here. We camp in a RV on the summer. It's the only way. Lol. My kids and I love the videos!
  • @renajennings
I stumbled upon your channel and I have been hooked ever since. My main attraction is the love and interaction you guys have with Chester❤
