Why I Stopped Buying Hermes and Chanel, DECLINE in Luxury Quality

Your honesty is refreshing . I often wondered how certain ladies on YouTube have such large collections of Hermes when they are so hard to get , never mind how they afford them just doing YouTube videos . Now that's a topic for another day.

One point to make though… I also see so many women posting pix of their Chanel or Hermes bags on IG, but when I go out walk in the streets of NYC, Paris, Rome, etc, I rarely see any woman carrying these bags. These bags are still considered very expensive for majority of people.

I’m so into supporting affordable luxury brands now like Atelier Auguste and Polene; handmade and even in small batch sometimes. The popularity is simply from quality and budget friendly price instead of all the games Chanel and Hermes are playing!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I could not agree more. I was recently in a Chanel Boutique and looked at a lot of bags. I swear if not for the design, I could not tell the difference between the bags I saw and a bag from Zara, Mango etc. Horrible quality! Do you still have bags or brands for bags you would recommend? That would also be very interesting.

I am happy someone else is realizing this. I have been saying this for a few years now; these brands are mocking the masses. I see awful clothing , just awful awful items which these guys price in the thousands and yet I could get better quality at teeny bopper outfit store. These guys are laughing at the middle classes. When are people going to wake up en mass and stick it to these brands?

With Hermes, it really depends on which leather you get. Yes, I agree that some of their leathers are no better than other brands.

Well whats make it less worth it here in Europe is the feeling that the Ukraine situation would blow up and there is full scale war. There would be struggle for survival and beautiful stuff would not be worth it in a situation like that.

My comment might come as a completely contract to everyone’s but the truth is good bad or any kind of discussion, reel, YouTube videos or instagram posts make Hermes and Chanel always stay relevant and in the news! There are hundreds of journey videos, 100s of review videos and even funny there are more videos these days like this saying Hermes isn’t worth it BUT the fact of the matter is people who buy will always buy people who want to spend will always spend and there will be others who buy to resell as Hermes in pre loved or consignment is double the price as the store and if exotic then well the sky is the limit! Nice video but people will still not understand and want a birkin or a Kelly unfortunately! 🤷🏻‍♀️
