Since Redestro lost to Shigaraki, only barely surviving by cutting off his feet... ...does that mean he got defeeted?
  • I could just imagine the first op of MHA but with the villains instead.

"let's put ourselves into Redestro's shoes" don't have any shoes to put myself in

Established Shonen media values for the past decades: you can't just do a whole arc with the villains Hori: hold my manga

I love how Hori sensei essentially structured Shigaraki as if he was a shonen protagonist. I never seen an autor that structured a villain in the exact same way as a hero or protagonist. I did saw villains who got fantastic development/progression or even entire arcs focused on them. But never a villain whose whole story is told pretty much from point 0.

8:25 “Lets put ourselves in Re Destro’s shoes for a moment.” Shoes where?

When My Villain Academia gets animated i can already envision a scene with the normal logo twisting and turning hero into ``VILLAIN´´

You forgot the most important part... Toga's sick new eyepatch.

He's leaving Dabi for his own big moment.
  • The funny thing about Horikoshi with Dabi is just, that he reveals literally every detail about Dabi except the intresting ones like his actual name, his quicks name or his origins. The only stuff we get are that he gets carsick (from spinner driving), hates fish and that his quirk damages his skin (which is painfully obvious) I would really hate it if he was the LAST of the members who gets his story revealed Edit: I was a fool

Liberated Shigaraki's (Liberaki?) art style (especially the hair) reminds me of Rikudo's art style. Love the glow and absence of black lines.

I love how Hori absolutely nails the concept of the villain being as important of character as the hero to the story. Some authors just focus everything on the protagonists which leaves the villains to be flat and in turn makes the story a bit dull.

Perhaps you missed it but during the Toga quirk evolution Toga responds to Curious saying it was fear of death and says “That’s not it. I just want to love more.” So the story flat out says it wasn’t fear of death that awakened it. Literally panels before Toga is about to be hurt by curious she isn’t thinking about dying, she’s thinking about how she wants to be more like the people she loves and be trusted like Ochako is by Deku because she desires love. Then her quirk awakens. So just like twice and shigiraki in that Toga accepts a part of herself which awakens the ability to be more and more like the people she loves, aka using their quirks. A lot of people seem to miss this so I wanted to point it out. Please respond if you agree or disagree :)
  • I wonder how Hori's editor reacted when he said he wanted to focus on the villians for half a year

Honestly I love the villains WAAAAAY more than the actual main characters X3

It’s cool seeing a shonen focus manly on the villains in a arc for once. Only other shonen I’ve seen do this is Hunter x Hunter with the phantom troupe in the manga but it’s great that horokoshi is doing something similar. Especially given all the development they gained in this arc.
