Kits vs Vike - A Kitsumii Fox Duel Animation #2

Published 2024-06-17
A courier finds himself in the Western Side of Raiterra with three health potions to deliver. He encounters a fox thief along the way.

ONE WHOLE YEAR OF WORK, IT'S FINALLY OUT. SO MANY MONTHS OF PROCRASTINATING.
I hope you guys enjoy this animation. I've spent so much time on this.

Thank you Viekale for letting me use your duelist in this animation.

  • I feel bad for the courier he was just doing his job protecting the delivery and got hanged for it, still an amazing animation none the less!

That vine move with the tree was both clever and BRUTAL.

I’m being 100% honest when I say this is one of the coolest dojo duel’s I’ve ever seen. Everything about it from the music, the story, the animation, and the comic-like framing, had me hooked from beginning to end, and gave dojo duels a flavor I’ve never seen before. I’ll be endlessly rewatching and analyzing this animation, and I wish you the best of luck in your creative endeavors🔥

no matter how popular this man is, he’ll always be criminally underrated but right now he’s especially underrated
  • That ending so brutal, I love it!! I absolutely adore the style of animation mixed with comic-book style. I've also been introduced to Ken Ashcorp's music because of you, so thank you! Keep up the awesome work and remember to take breaks if needed!
  • This was amazing. The choreography was amazing, the swordplay was epic, and the inclusion of healing potions allows for a much more intense duel. With all of this said, don't ever stop making such amazing animations!!

Jesus, Vike's defeat was clever and BRUTAL. I love Kit's adaptability and quick thinking, it makes her so unique as a stick fighter. Using the environment, the potions, and even just the basic material on the ground is something I don't typically see used in a lot of stickfights. And best part? You can FEEL the stakes, because of how BRUTAL some of these blows are. After the last fight, knowing Kit can lose by someone overpowering/outsmarting her, it kinda made this fight not exactly clear who would win. You fuckin cooked Proish, keep going

I really like the small little details in the first few minutes of the fight Vike often keeps his longsword in front of him, and when he swings, he doesn't do wide swings often (he does but only one or two), therefore not leaving himself vulnerable, Vike also doesn't go super close to Kits in the sword exchange, but just enough to allow him to hit and not be in the range of Kits' sword at the same time, until he did that thrust at 1:59 that allowed Kits to close at and bop him in the face with a swift kick Note how Kits also uses a rock tied to a stick with a vine at 3:01 as opposed to their dagger, however historically, blunt weapons have been used to help bypass knight's armor, whether that weapon be a flail, a warhammer, a mace, a mallet, etc. Kits could have been trying to go for the gaps in Vike's Armor with the Sabre (e.g. under his helmet) earlier, but when that proved to be ineffective due to Vike's much higher skill in sword combat, Kits swapped to using bludgeoning Vike although still is just better in pure head-to-head combat than Kits, so he still manages to overpower Kits. Then Kits attempts to prevent Vike from drinking the health potion by typing the vine around his arm, which works, but allows Vike to do the one thing he needed to do the most, which was to close the distance Kits dodges the first few hits, but then, Vike steps on Kits' hand. A brilliant tactical move to stop Kits from moving, allowing Vike to deliver the final blow. Which would've worked if Kits didn't have the potion. Very cool animation

THW CHOREOGRAPHY ON THIS IS INSANNEEEEE. Also love that you played around with the formatting of the screen throughout the video.
  • @Inkontoast
8 hour premier proish, why do you want me to suffer.
  • @Deadruncs
Both 2:19 and 3:33 are so well animated. This one is your best one so far, the choreography, the idea, the smoothness. It all just clicks so well together with your style!
  • @trulyredacted
Thanks for letting me help out on this incredible project. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
  • I love how you play with the black movie bars, it is very creative
  • @VKBboy
Once again, lovely music choice. I watched your last duel, it’s just magnificent, the story telling, the VA work, such quality work needs more acknowledgment definitely will be sharing this piece of art with my friends, keep it up please ❤ Oh, P.S; Ken ashcorp songs are the best, please keep using them or try songs from “Ok Goodnight”
  • @ItsGamein
this video made me search up the effectiveness of full plate armor, someone on youtube used a 1000lbs draw crossbow on one, the kind of crossbow that needs you to carry a crank around, and it poked a hole in the breastplate but bounced off and couldn't get deep enough to injure, and they have chainmail covering joints which make them almost invincible against swords Their biggest weaknesses were actually overheating and the weight of the armor, if a fight's not over in a couple minutes they'll collapse
  • @Lazilyenergetic
and so, vike's last words before he became a christmas ornament were: ''Tis' but a scratch'' but tbh that animation was SMOOTH AF also is kit eating her own eye?
  • @HopelessCT
I would absolutely read this as a webcomic, since the lore seems to be building up… and every once in awhile being graced by your amazing fight choreography as an animation… that would be devastating.
