Faye, as a former oncology CNS, I used to tell my medical and nursing students that I would prefer if they pushed the emergency buzzer and it was a false alarm, rather than not pushing it due to doubts or fear of being wrong. You did the right thing and you will be learning every day for the rest of your life, so that day was no different. Lots of love x

I'm sorry about the situation you experienced with your patient. Healthcare can be so incredibly humbling from an anxiety perspective, then just to hear you rang the alarm for no good reason adds to the stress. But you know? I bet that patient is happy you cared and would have potentially been saved if he were in asystole like the monitor suggested. I appreciate this type of content! It doesn't feel so curated and perfected. Thank you for sharing your life with us online.

hey Faye, as a nurse I promise you, there is nothing worse than a doctor (or nurse or really anyone I work with) who thinks they know everything. ask for help, push the alarm button and also remember that every single person in that hospital has been new at their job. they have all asked for help. (ps, I think Dylan is right about the food thing: we should all be allowed time to eat. so if you need food (or to go to the bathroom) say so.)

“Does this wasp not know that I’m a public servant” 😂 hahahhaaha
  • Faye if that person was a relative of mine I would have been nothing but grateful that you were more safe than sorry! ❤️ Also whilst the circumstances aren’t perfect - life never is! How lovely you get to spend more time with your person! 😊

I loveee thisssss and also I feel so proud to see this transition from a student to a doctor
  • @sidemenlovex7601
For the situation you should be proud of yourself you made the right call. You thought he was dying/ died and responded correctly and best case scenario happened, it was a false alarm.

I’m love love loving that you’ve kept up with the vlogs. I discovered you in my first year of uni, I’m now in my fourth and final year and your vlogs are genuinely what you do, not an unrealistic standard of every day life that’s unattainable for most. Especially the ones where you’re still in uni
  • @VanessaChats
That list is wonderful as it allows him to feel productive and like he's providing you something - this is a love language of men. Thank you for giving him some purpose.
  • I just came home from seeing saw X (fave horror franchise) and now I’m watching your vlogs! What a decent Sunday 🤍
  • @jessicawhittle8305
Faye, you have no idea how much watching your vlogs helps me, I love how honest and open you are about things, you're doing amazing as a doctor so far just keep going ❤️
  • @rachelbreen6963
This vlog was so fun and interesting to watch Faye! I love how real it is and you show the tough aspects to things too, you're doing so well balancing both working as a doctor and running your youtube channel, it must be so hard and tiring, but you always have such a sunny outlook. Inspiration, you have a lot of us supporting you and cheering you on <3
  • @Evaaisnothere
I literally love your videos sm! I have been ill for the past few days and watching these are my favourite thing :) they have made me start watching long videos because I just love them xx
  • @melanielynch5612
Please keep making the vlogs!! I love watching you conquer life as a newly graduated doctor, considering I’m in med school and will have to do the same thing soon ❤️❤️
  • @Sunflower0599
I worked in the ICU as a med student and one time I removed the ekg patches to do an ultrasound but it made the asystole alarm go off on the monitor but I was standing on the other side so I just thought I’d turn it off after I’m done with the ultrasound. Well, apparently the alarm goes off in the entire ICU so everyone came running with the crash cart 🤡 so I can definitely relate to your story 🥲😂
  • @natureangel33
I love the vlogs and I always have! Things happen how they are meant to happen so I am glad that you and Dylan have each other 🥰 I also love that your vlogs are realistic, one of the many reasons I enjoy watching your videos! 😳😳😳
  • I was already looking forward to a new vlog, honestly love the length of your vlogs because they keep me entertained longer🥰
