Yeah, I am crazy. Lemme know some other games/series/weird things you'd like to see me dive hard into. Because why not? Someones gotta cover looks down at notes Metal Gear Survive?

I used to be a store manager at the Avatar area of Walt Disney World at DAK. I also did this years ago to prep myself on the lore. Mostly, no one gave a shit about the lore and just liked the rides. Except one guy. Navi Bob. Fucking Navi Bob. Came to the park almost every day in almost full hybrid safari/avatar vibes and tried speaking to people in Navi, which he was fluent in. Nobody spoke it. There was also a lady who showed up often with a hyperrealistic Navi baby in a carrier. She would tell unprompted it cost $600. Weird job.

James Cameron presents James Cameron's Avatar: written by James Cameron, directed by James Cameron James Cameron James Cameron.

Avengers Endgame actually did go into the record book as the highest grossing film of all time, but avatar got a summer 2020 rerelease in China. No joke. That’s what brought it back to number 1.

I like how in the canon there are at least two other operatives who went rogue for the blue cat people and yet by the time of the movie they still haven't introduced ANY sort of failsafe.
  • @shawnheatherly
It's insane to me that there's this much content to a franchise that is, at this point, one movie.

“Unobtainium.” This truly was the greatest story of all time.
  • @lethargicwizard
The reason it took 13+ years now to get Avatars 2-5 out is not because they haven't been in production already, but because each one has so much CGI it takes 10 years to finish rendering

what is bizarre is Avatar lost the highest profit of all time, re-released in china like last year for the first time, and took it back.

I think one of the reasons the movie was a huge success besides the "Made for 3D" thing (and James Cameron's name) is the large amount of worldbuilding and effort put into creating the setting and creatures, which are then portrayed with really good effects and CGI that still hold up, frankly IMO this interesting setting/worldbuilding was really held back by that simplistic cliché plot, which is why I'm interested in seeing what kind of plot they will use in the sequels and how much they will expand the setting.

Maybe the next Avatar game will be some sort of Puzzle/Fighter/Dating Sim so they can check off a few more game styles off of the list.

As someone who played the Multiplayer fairly extensively on 360. I'm gonna give a short perspective on it. It was horribly balanced (Weapon loadouts were determined by your level in the single player if I'm not mistaken, so if you finished the game you had a massive advantage over someone who for whatever reason had not), yet kinda fun due to the jank. You always go RDA. Certain parts of the maps would funnel the Na'vi players, letting the RDA just completely massacre them. I used the Nail Gun myself. I nailed a bunch of Na'vi back in the day. Didn't even need a hair erection. Good times. Fun fact, I assume as a collaboration with the Disney Parks, before Disney Infinity was cancelled there were plans to include Jake Sully and Neytiri as playable characters/figues. This was before Disney owned Fox too.

As a younger kid, I played three of these games, thinking they were all the same game. My dumb kid brain still thought they were somehow the same game, even after playing the DS one 😅. Haven't thought about them in years, but thank you for finally telling me I played 3 different games, despite the titles all being exactly the same!
  • @TheInFamousTMF
I've actually owned and completed 2 of these games. I've always felt the PS3 & 360 version were underrated... The DS game was aight.
  • @IsaacStoneWolf
The 2009 Avatar Mobile game was my entire childhood. Multiple playthroughs and really fond memories.
  • @Borkinian
Shoutouts to Butt Ugly Martians. The original Avatar
  • @sparky3574
Literally. I played Xbox 360 Avatar non stop. I got all armors for both sides as well weapons. Plus I’d always invade the bases of each side, as well go head first with a mech or get a beast to ride in.
  • @AndrewPowerSM
The bit at the end just makes me want to hear about someone playing every version of Krusty's Funhouse.
  • @moomoocupcakes
I can't believe there were so many Avatar games. I vaguely remember one on PS3 but that's it. Certainly appreciate being enlightened.

The “so you don’t have to” game series is the greatest thing in video game review journalism since Austin Eruption 🌋.
