In this video, Christian and Rolly dive into one of the most iconic artists of the 20th century, Andy Warhol, and his iconic timepiece, the Cartier Tank. Cartier is a brand that, while they make watches, is equally iconic for their design across the board (probably even more so than the watches themselves). So what does Warhol have to do with it?

Well, Andy was notorious for wearing a Cartier Tank and never winding it. In his own words, "I wear a Tank because it's the watch to wear." To him, the mechanics of the watch didn't matter nearly as much as the look the watch not only had, but the way it helped to complete his look. This image helped propel Cartier a bit extra into the world of necessity for those who desire to appear elegant and refined.

  • The Tank is actually my grail watch. I finally saw one in the flesh a couple months ago - I thought it would be amazing. It was so much more amazing than I had expected!

Cartier brand is a force to be reckoned with! Their sales figures are impressive, ranking number 3 just below Rolex and Omega. They make such great designs that many other watch brands can't event compete with
  • @jimcook1747
Cartier make some of the most nicely designed watches ever, it's really in Rolex league.
  • Congratulations to Alberto. Gorgeous watch. Fell in love with a Cartier Tank back when I was around 7 years old and saw it at a shop window display. I used to wear free plastic wristwatches from McDonald’s Kid Meals. Now that I’m a designer and a watch enthusiast I know that Cartier will be the first luxury watch brand I will purchase. Or maybe even the last as well.
  • Love to wear the Tank louis 24x30 sized. It brings me to the old fashion vintage style of some decades ago. Worn by Muhammad Ali, Steve Mcqueen, Giorgio Armani, Andy Warrol, Clarke Gable, Cary Grant, Truman Capote, Alain Deloin, Gary Cooper... it's exquisit, tres chic IMHO

Who remembers when Christian called it car-tee-er?
  • @Tonysoprano497
Totally get what your saying . I own a tank solo and of course it’s an eta based movement and not on any high end horological sphere . Who cares , -pair it with the right strap and it’s pure class , style personified! We have other pieces to scratch the technical issues this is about aesthetic beauty and style ...
  • When looking at watches in general I often tend to gravitate towards watches with more quality movements, because I feel like I have to, to get some value for money. When looking at Cartier, that's literally never the case. I don't even take note of whether they're quartz or mechanical.

Christian Would you recommend the cartier tank as my first luxury watch or would you say to go for something more traditional such as a submariner or gmt.
  • @djcoronel

Hey guys... I recently bought a Omega seamaster from 1950s. Though it works fine, I would want to service it before I start using it. I went to a serving store in Boston, he says it would cost around $400 for servicing and polishing of the dial and bracelet. Is it worth it or am I paying too much for it? BTW he is a certified Rolex and Omega servicer. I hope to get some answers.
  • @timickan
Watches are, first and foremost, pieces of jewellery.
  • @WINDINGCROWNS
Great job guys. Rolly, great pronunciation! “Tienes que hablar español hombre!” Love it.
