Holy shit the pain in Miranda's voice was gut wrenching! That is a patriotic and good hearted man. What an awful situation! : (

So basically Puerto Rico is the example of catering to the whims of unrestrained capitalism where all financial malfeasance are allow to happen.

I like how he gave credit to the pianist at the end. He didn’t have to, but he did. Just a nice touch.

Lin’s appeal was gut-wrenching. He seemed on the verge of tears, desperately asking for help for Puerto Rico. And I feel like the US gov has just gotten worse and worse at caring for Puerto Rico

"It's so fucking good, it's so good, we owe Puerto Rico for that man" And we owe the UK for John Oliver I LOVE LIN-MANUEL AND JOHN

4 years later: 2 hurricanes, tons of earthquakes, corrupt government officials. How does America respond? Let's throw toilet paper at them. "American Citizens"
  • As a Puerto Rican it hurts how horribly america treats us and I thank you truly for bringing this to light even if it’s both old and often ignored

That audience will never come closer to actually seeing Hamilton than right there.

I know its not the biggest thing in the song at the end but I love that Lin-Manuel uses his last few seconds to shout out the key board player. Just really nice thing to do for a fellow musician .

Greetings from Greece Puerto Rico and welcome to our club.

Man... that hurricane line hurts so much more in 2017...
  • @anawieder5003
The USA needs to either make Puerto Rico a state or let it become a fully independent country.

Watching that commercial made to entice businessmen to move to P.R hurt... I’m Puerto Rican and when I lived there, I didn’t feel safe. The power and water are always going out, even when there’s seemingly no reason, and during New Years, you have to duck and stay indoors cause you sometimes can’t tell the gunshots apart from the fireworks. And the school system usually doesn’t include English unless the school is private, despite us being a U.S territory. The island is not ok, especially not after Hurricane Maria. Also, I absolutely hate the fact that many Americans don’t actually know that Puerto Ricans are also Americans. I’ve had people ask me if I have two citizenships: One for P.R and one for the U.S. How can our Island expect help when most mainland-Americans aren’t even aware of us being part of the U.S?

Ok, now I'm wondering if John Oliver did this entire segment for Hamilton tickets. :)

It’s amazing how you can learn more from a comedian than in a classroom in a formal setting. LWT is a treasure for the average American
  • "If you are massively in debt, but can't declare bankruptcy, you are stuck." Yeah, welcome to student loan hell.
