  • I live 40 minutes away in Land O Lakes so I don’t have to deal with the city but can still work in the city for a higher salary lol.

I just love the weather in Florida. The summer is hot, but you can enjoy the pool or beaches and life outside. I love to go for long walks with my wife in the evening during/after sunset. The winters are incredible, sunny days not too hot. I mean, in my book, great weather all year around. Really lovely. I don't understand why people complain. Oh well, I moved from Chicago, months of cold weather, cloudy most of the year and lots of snow... LOL

Besides traffic all of those cons seem more like pros to me. I live in Pennsylvania and inflation was at 8.2%. Pa weather is terrible and talk about things being spread lol. Where I live in pa. You are not going anywhere without a vehicle to get you there.

I will always take the heat over the cold. When it is hot I am uncomfortable and I am sweating, but I am not in pain. The cold is very painful.

Wanting to move from San Diego….. I’m struggling with leaving the beauty here….and the costs are so hard….but I keep seeing how expensive it has become there so I’m doing so much research to see if it’ll be worth it

Having work very hard doing all my do diligence to keep my location private, your channel is pushed front & center. You asking for input is not unnoticed. A 7 month working vacation made a turn. I have been here for about thirty years . Always wanting to go home but it's never the right time, the right deal... on and on. So here I am backed in a corner. Welcome to Tampa Florida. Is there a better place to go? Let me know.

Good video and you give alot of interesting information. Thanks for posting.
  • I just moved from Chicago and I would agree about the crime (Safety definitely a pro). I have never worried about my car being broken into or stolen. There are questionable neighborhoods for sure but they are fairly isolated. A couple of other cons: 1) Quality of water: the drinking water is filled with sulfur and is disgusting. I would budget $3-$5K in a water softener for your home and 2) Lack of entertainment options: if you are looking to see your favorite act touring the country, they will usually go to Orlando and Miami but never to Tampa. There are no independent movie theaters (even AMC does not have even one theater that they would consider "independent"). The art venues are okay; I've been to a few but would probably never go again or buy a membership.

We live in a Dallas suburb, so summer heat and traffic do not scare us. We’ve decided we need the beach lifestyle though, and zero probability the temp will go below 20 in February. 😁

Great info! Looking forward to move to Tampa/Sarasota closer to spring 2024.
  • I’m a single senior adult wanting to move to Florida not too far from beach. Middle north of Florida not south. I’m active love night life too . Not too expensive areas and no HOA if possible. I would like to know your suggestions.
  • @lisaw7633
I'm with you. I don't like cold weather. And sure don't like dreary days. I'm a summer baby and love summer weather
  • @Ofcmike301
Hey I’ll be moving from Detroit too..I’m still looking for a nice home in the Tampa area. I’m a retired Detroit police detective and I’m not trying to move somewhere bad.
  • @DobyDuke
Expect traffic delays…… especially malfunction junction!
