I would counter with: 1. Oil catch can for GDI engines like your VT 2. Intake, agreed 3. Exhaust agreed, and agree 100% on not spending $700+ on expensive Borla, etc if you're not trying to race. Muffler shops can weld you up something that sounds nice from $50-$400 depending on the labor involved. My 2016 Koup SX muffler delete/axleback was $220. I've payed both $50 and $80 for a simple muffler delete, and the quality of work was much better at the $80 shop. 4. BOV and intercooler resonator delete. Cheap, nice sound results on the 1.6T from Hyundai/Kia. The $25 Tork pipe isn't actually supposed to change the sound but it's so cheap and easy to do, why not? 5. Tune A lot of our KDM buddies do an intake, downpipe, and tune for their performance mods and they're pushing 250hp crank, all for around $1500. That's Focus ST level of performance, 14sec 1/4 mile for thousands less, with a VT or other 1.6T used being around $14,000 and a used Focus ST at about $20,000. Aesthetics like tint and mudflaps are just extra to me and I wouldn't include them in a mod list personally.

I added a sixth engineering element system in mine, intercooler, cold air intake, has bov, sks exhaust and some fuel racing lines. Maybe a couple more things but so far having fun. I've only had this veloster 3 weeks. Can't wait to finish my food delivery car.

1.intake (pick a brand, I did K&N because it came with heat shielding, but injen is cheaper I think), 2. Hot Pipe by MBRP, 3. silicone cold pipe by sxth element. 4.rear torsion beam brace 5.Strut tower brace 6. Cat-back exhaust CNT and MBRP have the cheapest sets, but I would go with CNT if you live in the salt belt because they use stainless instead of just galvanized steel. 7.FMIC (you can then sell your hot and cold pipe to recoop some money 8.down pipe 9.tune

Mine got a HKS BV, Megaflow Exhaust turbo back, K/N Airbox kit, coilovers and better short shifter. -2017 Turbo Type R Black Edition came with factory black wheels and copper and black interior

I have a 2020 elantra sport. Sxth element Downpipe, rear sway, hot pipe upgrade. Axle back exhaust ,Turbo XS catch can. Love my car, solid 6.3 0-60
  • @Onhaey
-Intake -Full Exhaust, turbo back (downpipe, mid pipe, catback) get a high flow catted downpipe or cat deleted downpipe. -Front mount intercooler with hard intercooler piping -BOV just for the sound -Tune All that combined (besides the bov) will give you a nice power gain
  • @Elevate09
Good video, so much hand motion... and all right guys
  • @konkobas
You'd really like the modding scene in the 90s with people doing up hyundai Excels with cat back exhausts , lowered springs and cold air intakes. These videos reminds me of how people really don't bother modding Velosters.

i have 20% tint on the windshield and 5% all around and it takes about a day to get used to the windshield at night but after that you are good. I donā€™t recommend anything lower than 20% on the windshield or alternatively get some brighter headlights since sometimes you canā€™t even see pedestrians/cyclists if they are on the side of the road and its very dark and they donā€™t have any reflective gear.
  • @jonjonjrfrmcali
I would rate a ECU high performance chip way up there, probably above window tinting.

I have a Rally as well and I would never get it lowered. Lowered cars that you daily are such a pain in the ass. As far as our cars go my top 5 mods would be as follows. 1. Tires 2. Tint 3. Intake and that pipe you can get to replace the restriction in the intercooler hose. 4. Exhaust/downpipe 5. Intercooler 6. Once you have full bolt ons get a tune according to the mods you have.
