Cornell notes: Used everywhere except at Cornell.

I used the Cornell method when I was in college years ago and strongly recommend it. I did not place summaries at the bottom of each page of notes but that would have been helpful as well. The use of white space (skipping lines between topical notes) is important as it helps in the retention process. A page jammed with notes isn't good in the long run. What you save in paper you lose in retaining information.

My entire school attended a 1/2 day seminar on Cornell notes... I didn't "Grok". Your 5:26 video nailed it. I am grateful. IF you're ever in the Daytona Beach area, I owe you a beer!

I wish these things were teached in school. We only find out better learning methods after graduating...

Love how u explained it. One of the most effective uses for this technique is that when revising, you can cover the notes and examples to leave only the key points, call them from memory and internalize what you have taken. Very useful for exams.

Perfect explanation! I'm going to use this video with my own students instead of reinventing the wheel and making my own!
  • dear fellow pupils, good luck. best of luck on any exams, tests, quizzes, and projects you are assigned🤙🏼

Thanks very much for this! I'm a tutor at a university in London, UK and I found it really helpful. I showed it to all my classes and ordered them to do all notes like this from now on! I also like how clear it is and easy to follow. The different boards illustrating what you talk about add a nice visual dimension too.

My english is weak. But your accent and pronunciation are so clear that I easily understood almost everything that you are talking about. Wow.

  • Awesome guide on Cornell notes! A slightly different left section - main ideas, important people or dates - that really helps! Thank you so much!
  • From chaos to order. Taking an accelerated virtual class and getting overwhelmed. This was very structured and something I plan to apply. The demo was VERY helpful. Thanks So MUCH!

Great video. Very helpful, as I'm embarking on an undergrad course after 40 years of no formal study. I think this will help me tremendously. :-)

Useful information never gets old or dull as I have learned in the course of my life that repetition, repetition, and more repetition is the best teacher of 'em all...

I am not into biology but after this video and understanding the Cornell strategy as you so wonderfully explained it, i will gladly take the course and use this technique to pass :)... Thank you very Jennifer DesRochers
  • I’m in my 2nd year of university and this is really helpful. I can’t wait to implement this 🙂
