A grand military procession has taken the Queen's coffin to Westminster Abbey for her state funeral.

The procession involved 6,000 representatives from all three armed forces, with 98 Royal Navy sailors towing the 123-year-old gun carriage.

Senior members of the Royal Family walked behind the coffin, which was carried by the military bearer party of the Grenadier Guards.

As a Scotsman, I'm so proud that my beloved Queen Elizabeth II chose to see out her days in Scotland. Rest in Peace Ma'am. God Save The King. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧
  • This is the greatest funeral I've ever seen. Respect to Queen and the Royal family and proud for British people.
  • The bagpipes and the drums touched me deeply. Never expected that I would love that kind of music. Whole ceremony is so full of love, respect, honour, culture, history. Goosebumps.
  • RIP to the Queen of Canada. She was our Queen for almost half of our nation's 153 year old history. And we are immensely proud to have her as our sovereign and head of state. Long lived the Queen. Dieu protège le Roi! Great to see our Mounties leading the procession.
  • No other modern nations can put on as splendid a public ceremony as can the UK. They have done their late Queen proud.
  • Everytime I see this, I am speechless and in awe of the Brits. They performed a grand send off flawlessly, movingly and superbly for the longest reigning queen.
  • Having served in the Welsh Guards for 22 years I have been involved in many parades for HM Queen xx This moved me so much and makes me so proud ❤

I believe that this was the most moving scene I have ever witnessed. The Navy and the Bearer Party were simply perfect in all they did.
  • When the bagpipes started up, I had tears and goosebumps at the same time. Truly haunting sound that embodies this truly historic moment. She now moves from living monarch to historic figure. We will remember this day forever.

  • Born in America never traveling to England,. I can't help but to weep I've cried nearly all day in her passing. I can't help but feel a true angel on earth has left us I pray that she will continue to pray and watch over our souls from above. My heart aches my peace and love continue to reign over all lands for all of humanity.
  • This for me was the most incredible part of the day. The precision, the class, the bagpipes. RIP HM The Queen.
  • As an ex military man the drill was faultless, absolutely inkeeping of our instilled standards as a nation. Hats off to all God save the King 🇬🇧
  • I like others watched the whole procession and once the bagpipes started as a Scot I cried. I’m not ashamed to say I cried. She was a glorious Queen and never hurt anyone and I had tremendous pride knowing that she was being taken to her resting place and the whole of the UK in a way was protecting her and making sure she got HOME safe.
  • This is so painfully beautiful. I'm absolutely heartbroken and I didn't think it would hit me this hard. So proud of our soldiers our history and our tradition. Nobody does this like us 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

This is what history looks like. A monarch departing on the shoulders of her people guarded by her forces. This part was heart wrenching
  • The bagpipes and thunderous drums are just immense. Most emotional part of the state funeral for me. Incredibly proud of our armed services but even prouder of her late majesty. What a lady, missed by us all but she will live on in our hearts and minds 💔😢
