Section 235 of the South African Constitution acknowledges the right of cultural groups to self-determination. But what about the Afrikaner enclave of Orania which also uses race to determine who can be allowed to live in that community? Thirty-two years after its establishment, the Orania experiment continues to baffle South Africans and the world about why it is allowed to exist in stark contrast to the spirit of the Constitution which frowns against racism.

If a town of 3000 people, which you probably can't even find on a map, is giving you sleepless nights, you don't have any real problems or struggles. I can't imagine a more comfortable, luxurious, privileged life than one where one of your biggest worries is the fact that Orania exists.

The interviewer, in his preparation for the interview, should have familiarised himself with the more than 100 anti-white laws on our law books.
  • Well done Orania. If ANC can't run a fully functioning and non racial SA, without BEE then communities in SA must do this.

The ANC does not want anyyone to be happy or successful. We all must be down in the gutters πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I’m amazed that the culture of the majority of South Africans is one of feeling threatened by a meager 2500 people who get off their rear ends and do things for themselves and are successful at what they do . This poses the question of why , if they are so worried about what the Afrikaner is achieving for themselves, do they not remover their index finger out of their rear end and do something similar for their own communities . I suspect it has to do with the culture of entitlement and it is easier to β€œhijack β€œ what somebody else has built. What is more obvious is the lack of ability to achieve anything for themselves.
  • Its called freedon of association. People dont like Orania because it is so sucessfull as a town. Probably one of the most sucessful towns in SA.

I want to see the first black Orania, build a new town with great schools, jobs for all, safety, and healthcare. It would be a great challenge to a group of black people to prove that it can be done! Come on guys! There are billionaires within black society, so money is not an excuse! People build R20mil mansions in Venda in the middle of nowhere instead of building a new town with amenities and businesses!

Can people with nothing better to do just leave people of Orania alone. What is it thats stopping one from buying land and have people of the same culture and vision in that land. It's already happening anyway, the rich leave amongst themselves. One who is poor is not allowed in, they erect boom gates to stop people from entering or just passing through.

in interviewer is biased and trying to push a narrative but never seeking to understand interviewee. he asks questions from a position of anger.

The interviewer is trying SO hard to get this gentleman to condone apartheid ! Also to try and trap him into a race baiting situation. Shame on you Sir !!
  • If the aim is a non-racial society, then BEE and AA must be removed as well, Black ownership laws should be removed, tenders should not only be for Black people. This is all hypocritical, the entire SA system is based on black empowerment, non-racial? I don't think so ANC. EFF non racial? Definitely not.

The funny thing is that if the Indians built an indian only town no one would complain, we would all be happy for them! If Zulus built a Zulu only town - other cultures would be happy and we would celebrate it and come visit. And mostly, we would understand! But a couple Afrikaaners do it and everyone is complaining πŸ˜†

The comments have been overwhelmingly positive to this interview, I think that's it's an indication that South Africans have come to realize that the concept of a rainbow nation is not really the way to go. Tribes across South America were not forced into one big melting pot and exist today in small groups retaining their individual cultures, beliefs, and ways of life. This does not however make them racists. People should be allowed to choose with who they associate and how to live their lives. It does not mean that they cannot help other groups of people achieve the same as in the case of orania who are very much involved in other Community developments around them. ❀

Very simple answer : Orania is building up with their own people faster than light and the Government/ÀÑÇ BREAK DOWN WITH CORRUPTION AND RACIST LAWS and activities with the same speed.
  • @HordIncStudios
Orania doesn't affect me, and their views of me got nothing to do with me either, so let them be
  • I honestly think this is the last thing we should worry about ...cause we have bigger issue's to deal with first .like getting the eskom problem sorted out and other things like corruption before this country runs to the ground

Non-Racial South Africa....ok then why are there Quotas, BEE and so on πŸ€”
