You gotta check out Inscryption. Easily one of the best indie games of the last few years. You'll be immediately hooked.
  • @peepperson444
I enjoyed chapter 1 quite a bit when it came out, but I agree wholeheartedly that chapter 2 completely outdid it to an insane degree. Really hope the game keeps the momentum for the remainder of the chapters, because chapter 2 was pure joy

I’d highly, HIGHLY recommend another game that came out in 2021: Before Your Eyes. It’s a creative and emotional incarnation of the phrase “Blink and you’ll miss it.” One of the most beautiful and saddest stories I’ve ever seen in a game.

I think you would really like Omori, its an rpg that came out in 2020 but was in development for 7 whole years before releasing. It's probably the best game I've ever played. Don't search anything about the story, it makes the experience better trust me

"Deltarune has the potential to outdo Undertale in every way once it's finished" This is it. Somebody finally said it. I felt just like Schaff when I went and played Chapter 1 right after Undertale in 2020. But Chapter 2? Jesus. If Undertale was one of my most loved experiences of all time, Deltarune has the true potential to be my favorite thing of all time. And if I have to wait 5 years for Toby to finish it properly, I will.

it takes two is like the most passion i have ever seen in a game before. a truly unforgettable experience
  • @jilektx5
Omori while being released in 2020 of december is still my favorite 2021 game as it came out after every ranking of the 2020 games. Such a powerful fun game at which no point i was bored.

honestly just hearing someone else talk about psychonauts 2 makes me happy. its genuinely one of my favorite games and was easily my personal game of the year.
  • @deeznoots6241
Regarding Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl and its differences to the original game, they didn’t even change the Ice gym despite it relying on players only being able to move in the 4 cardinal directions… so you can bug it out and just skip the entire ice puzzle thanks to the new movement system

I would LOVE a full Ace Attorney video on why you love it so much, because it's ALSO one of my favorite stories in all of gaming
  • Schaf was already one of my favorite youtubers and then he started covering anime and games and other nerdy stuff and i’m in love all over again.
  • @swimmyswim417
Chapter one of Deltarune was a great introduction to the world, but chapter 2 just blew me away. I love the new characters, the new game features, the music, and the continuity in the overworld between each day. It’s been a long time coming, but I’m excited for what Toby Fox has in store for future chapters.

I highly recommend playing Chicory: a Colorful Tale. It was created by Greg Lobanov (wandersong) and was composed by Lena Raine (who did the music for Celeste) its a wonderful game and one of my favorites of the year
  • @monke2229
So glad you talked about Psychonauts 2, that game has gripped me so tight with its characters and designs
  • @Ash-bo9eu
Definitely don’t miss out on Inscryption Don’t wanna spoil anything about the game but it ended up being my second favorite game of 2021 and it’s insane just how much effort was put into every aspect of this game
  • @retromochi
psychonauts is such a stellar franchise and Im so glad its been getting the attention and appreciation it deserves with psychonauts 2. I totally understand the cutscene gripes, but you have to understand that psychonauts 2 was the sequel that everyone was sure would never happen, so all the fans of the first game and probably tim schafer himself were just really intent on getting more lore and story than the first game and connecting more backstories together, so Im really glad they didn't sacrifice any cutscenes in the long run to really tell the story they set out to.
  • @justabridget
I was hoping you would talk about Pyschonauts 2, never in my life has a game had me more in a chokehold.
  • @TheLegomann97
My man, if you like time loops, you'd LOVE Outer Wilds. Definitely more of a puzzle/exploration game than Deathloop, but it and it's DLC that released this year are both freaking phenomenal games. They're experiences that I believe everyone should have.
  • @MisterFribble
I started playing It Takes Two over the break, and holy crap it's awesome. Even on underpowered hardware (like an Xbox one s) the art style is gorgeous, the levels are each unique and fun, and the story is excellent with a very healthy dose of laughter (also, a jackass of a book). To me it 100% deserved the GOTY.
