On this day in 1988, Desmond Llewelyn, as Q, shot his scene helping Bond sneak aboard the Wavekrest in LICENCE TO KILL.

It's rare you see bond playing chess like this with his enemies. Dalton came off as a cold calculating mercenary in this
  • the darker more serious tone of Dalton was a fresh take after the light humored run of Roger Moore. i think we all would have liked to see one or two more turs from him.

I would have loved to see Timothy Dalton in more bond movies. He had a distinct aura and that smile.

I just love the gritty tone and vibe in every scene of LTK. My favorite Bond film. Also there can be no debate that Pam Bouvier is one of the best and certainly the most beautiful of the Bond women.

The exploding head scene was traumatizing to me as a kid. This movie is the Temple of Doom of the Bond movies, basically.
  • I love how Sanchez barely even blinks as Krest's ship barrels right through a chunk of the dock. He's so thoroughly convinced that Krest is running a total shitshow that he just takes it in stride. Also the way that Krest realizes how thoroughly boned he is attempting to recount Bond's superhuman exploits to his boss.
  • Dalton’s best. It’s a shame he didn’t do more, but he was regardless a very valuable Bond.
  • Great Bond movie. Dalton was so good and paved the way for Craig. Also, gotta love Q getting in on the action. RIP Desmond Llewelyn. Thank you for your service.
  • Love this Bond film. Definitely more faithful to Ian Flemings material. Dalton is impressive once again as Bond and Robert Davi is brilliant as the main Villain, Sanchez.
  • I’ll keep saying it till I’m blue in the face, but Timothy Dalton deserved at least two more Bond outings in 1991 and 1993 before Pierce Brosnan took over.
  • Timothy Dalton really puts the original elements into the role in the late 1980s, rejuvenating the franchaise. That's awesome!
  • Pretty good James Bond movie. To bad Timothy Dalton only did 2 Bond movies. Carey Lowell hubba hubba 😍. Thanks for posting this
  • Timothy Dalton was and still is my favorite Bond. My step dad would rent movies all the time and one of his favorites was James Bond with Timothy skiing on the water from the plane with bare feet. He thought it was very impressive!
  • I always find it very hilarious & funny when Krest shows up on the bridge and says "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" while the Wavekrest Captain replies "Harbor pilot went crazy." from 1:18-1:22.

As a kid I liked Rodger Moore best. Then later I worked in Military Intelligence and realized that Timothy Dalton played Bond closest to who Bond would be.
  • I like when Sanchez says, "launder it." It's after this scene. But it's a great line.
