I keep my volume on medium so I don't mess with my ears

Bromley put it best. It depends
-
A wizard never does more sets than he needs to, nor does he do less. He does precisely as many as he needs to.
-
Within the first 5 minutes you’ve conveyed more logical and accurate information than what it takes a fitness influencer 20 minutes to say. Subscribed.

10:42 Linear Periodization works so well for most people, especially once they learn how to push themselves hard enough to hit some hard reps in all working sets. That will generally define the amount of volume they should perform for optimal gains.

I’ve been bodybuilding over 20 years and the highest I’ve seen work is about 20 sets a week. I’d say over 90% of bodybuilders I’ve met in my life do 3-4 sets of 3-4 exercises once a week. So we’re talking 9-16 sets per muscle group.

Everything works as long as you train hard and smart. If you like to go very near (or to) failure most of the time, don't do PPL 6x a week, or it will quickly destroy you (been there, done that).

Focus on progressive overload and adjust volume accordingly.

I dig the Iron Maiden font in the thumbnail. 🤟🤟

You're such an underrated fitness youtuber, probably in my top 5, just pure information, no bs.

Thanks for giving this great advise for free!

Great brother, you are making people think. Too bad that I'm not a "breadwinner", I would definitely buy your book once I become one.

Just got your book really enjoying the content, love your channel 👊👍

that Zero % off had me dying! Man, I was subscribed allready, but the adverts at the end were hilarious. Also the content is top notch. Thanks a lot

I bet it depends heavily on the muscle group. 20 sets of Abs is great and allows for progression while 20 sets of Hamstrings is overkill.
-
Your videos are amazing for everyone especially gym nerds like me!

"....when I sell out in a few months..." We can't say we weren't warned.

I feel like if a movement works your targeted muscles perfectly, you can get away with doing a lot less than say, a movement is not working for you at all yet you keep adding sets just because more volume is better. Working the muscle properly with enough relative intensity is the base upon which volume can be regulated, if those 2 are proper, then your MAV becomes lower! Great that you mention this in the video.
