I love the way the astronaut, Col. Glenn, trusted her numbers and insisted on her double checking the IBM computers numbers
  • It’s not about color, it’s about ability. These ladies were outstanding and were crucial to the success of the space program.

Decades ago, I was in an IBM training program for 3 months to cross-train people into the new technologies. Because I was a woman, they wanted to assign me to the Data Entry program, 30 students which was all women, basically fancy typists entering data details into the computer. I said thank you very much, but no, I wanted to be in the Computer Operations program of 16 students and all men except for one other lady. End of the class, I 'graduated' as the second in the class, got a job as a computer operator for 2yrs, while still taking classes at university and eventually moved into programming which was majority of my career. Watching this film, I was tickled to see the the 'computer' lady working on the IBM machine of which they were all more than capable to be able to operate.

TarijiPHenson should’ve been nominated for best actress at the Oscars and she would’ve won

This movie is a real life testimony of triumph in the face of adversity. It will always be one of my favorites.

I LOVED this movie. First, because I grew up in central Florida and watched the rockets take off from Cape Canaveral. Second, and most importantly, because it showed that people can overcome racism, bigotry, and economic classism. I’m white, but came from a lower-class family and overcame that to succeed well. These ladies are an inspiration to all of us.
  • These ladies prove a very important fact, that fact was people of color were not stupid or illiterate, they proved quite to the contrary, how intelligent people of color actually are and personally, I truly enjoyed this movie. I thought it was well written, and I thought it was acted very well.

I love watching Jim Parson’s character trying to keep up with her math and kind of mouthing to himself. He portrays the consternation of her figuring this out on the fly after he had hedged with the Generals moments before.
  • Man, seeing all of them strong, SMART, educated, and classy black women walking to go do what they do, feels SO great!!!
