I'd just like to note, that the i5-1235U only supports link ECC, which is not the same as inline or side-band ECC. Link ECC only protects the data in transit (on the bus), but not while it's in RAM, like inline or side-band ECC. With filesystems like ZFS, inline or side-band ECC should be used to avoid data loss, with the new DDR5 modules this can be combined with link ECC as well.

Note to the editor: stop the music when the noise level test is running.

Well, IMHO for the Kickstarter early bird prices with 40% discount these UGreen NAS devices where a no brainer - I ordered the 6 Bay unit (also with i5-1235u) $599 - even though the software is beta and deemed unusable at the time of purchase, but I plan to use Unraid on it anyway. But the retail prices are another story and whilst the hardware is actually quite good and in the model range even clearly superior to the known competition like QNap or Synology - the software is still far from being up to par with its competitors and many would say more on the “don’t use” side – but again you can and UGreen allows this, use any other software like i.e. Unraid, Truenas Scale or Proxmox on these.

remember to budget for tape drives, tapes, offsite storage and disaster recovery services.

Isn't the TB/USB 4 mainly for connecting clients to the box? How is the speed then if it works that way?

I don't see any problem with taking review samples. That being said it could possibly make you want to give the company a favorable review. I do admire your integrity and I find awesome and unique. That being said please take review samples and just give your opinion the worst that can happen is the company won't reach out again. Happens to me every time I do a review I might be too critical lol

PhotoPrism is okay. Immich is so much cleaner and better IMO.

26-30W idle consumption is insanely high. It should be around 6-8 watts I think.

I'm getting dizzy with all of your hand waving. My advice would be just stick to good content, and limit the hand waving to only key moments. Otherwise good video.

Where are you getting your prices from? $500 for 4tb? No. Example, WD SN850X NVME 4TB PCIE Gen 4X4 is $320. I thought the 'Unsure' part was a joke.

I like the video. Thanks! Won't go with this device. Also the price for 8tb nvme is crazy...
