A man just died in Brazil after undergoing a phenol peel. It was done by a local inluencer who thought she could be a esthetician/dermatologist even though se had NO training to do that. After his death, she said she couldnt have asked for any kind of heart monitoring because she was not a doctor 🤡

No, thanks! I'd rather keep my skin on my face.

Your face is so much harder to hide if things go wrong and you can't hide from yourself when/ with the everlasting regret of what you willfully did to yourself.

All that in the name of beauty. Horrifying
  • I had a mentor who did phenol peels on her face, neck, shoulders, and arms over the course of 7 months. She’d spent the last 30 years working outdoors in a time before daily sunscreen was a thing, had severe sun damage, and was covered in precancerous spots. So the oncology specialist dermatologist she was seeing recommended phenol peels to get ahead of possibly widespread skin cancer. They sent her to a cardiologist for clearance before they started and did one area at a time, then the next a month later. She luckily didn’t have any serious complications, but she looked terrible and had to switch to part time indoor work for the duration. Last I heard from her she was 2 years out, free from any concerning spots, and looked easily 20 years younger than when she’d had the peels done. For her, the risk and the bother was outweighed by stopping skin cancer, but for most people it’s way too much.

I had a college friend who had a horribly acne scarred face. She looked bad, but the worst was her self-concept. She felt like a monster. She had the deep peel, and it made all the difference in the world. From never having had a date, a year later she invited me to her wedding! ❤

I use to work at a chemical plant that had a phenol unit. Almost everyone i know that worked in the unit came down with some sort of cancer.

PASS! I'd rather keep my ugly than make my skin worse or die.

Dr. Youn, here in Brazil a very young guy (27y) died during this procedure. There's even CCTV footage of his last moments and the owner refuses to talk about her qualifications. It would be very interesting to hear your thoughts about this.

I'll never and i mean NEVER forget when my boss had this done. Came to work without telling anyone she had a procedure ... The entire salon was silent for weeks. You could cut the air... 😅

"it started in the 1920s" "Okay I'm out."
  • @CherryJuli
I take the wrinkles over this. Thank you.

I saw a documentary about a woman doing the peel and what they don’t tell you is that afterwards you have to protect your skin from the sun because it is like you had a BIG sunburnt so you cannot expose yourself to the sun for a long period of time (counted in years). I would never do such things 😰
  • I think accepting and embracing the reality of natural aging as human beings is a much better choice. 💕✌️✨🦋
  • I have a story to tell. About 7 years ago I ordered this chemical peel from eBay. It turned out to be an illegal selling of a phenol acid. My skin literally turned white the second I put on and the pain, OH THE PAIN!! My heart started racing so fast I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I did my ENTIRE face. I left it on for only 10 seconds. My face started oozing after a few days and it took about 2 weeks for it to peel off entirely. I took such great after care that the results were phenomenal!!! Literally gave me a new face. I figured out a few later that I had applied phenol on my skin. The healing and downtime was awful but the results were incredible. Would NEVER go through that again.
