Israel Recalls Ireland, Norway, Spain Envoys Over Palestinian State Recognition

Published 2024-05-22
Israel recalled its ambassadors to Ireland, Norway and Spain after they announced they would recognize a Palestinian state. The co-ordinated moves by the European nations underscores how Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza is focusing global attention on the issue of statehood for Palestinians and hurting Israel’s relations with the rest of the world. Bloomberg News' Paul Wallace discusses with Joumanna Bercetche on Horizons Middle East & Africa.

Pull them from the US Also. Netanyahu is Not Above the Law.
  • @indianna272
I don't see Netanyahu recalling his ambassador from America who also wants to see a two state solution! I wish the UK would make a declaration the same as Norway so we can also have our ambassador removed.
  • Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czechia, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Romania and Slovakia, Belgium and sweden, now Ireland, Norway, Spain recognized palestine state. so total 146 of the 193 members in UN recognized palastine states.
  • @Kurtlane
Israel should not return those ambassadors.
  • Meanwhile Norway bans burkhas and immigrant visas and Ireland is in full revolt against immigrants too. Spain is as fascist as ever. How ironic.
  • @donaldlococo954
Palestinians have never wanted a two state solution. Are you going to force them into it? And Ireland recognizing the "state" of Palestine is as realistic as recognizing Hy-Brasil as a sovereign state. Equally mythical.
  • United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Article 3. Indigenous peoples have the right to self-determination. By virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development. Under pressure from Arab countries and countries in solidarity with them 1945-1948. They drew the UN map without taking into account the local, indigenous population of the Israelis, who lived a long time (more than 3500 years ago) before the Arabs appeared in this region, and all the historical lands and holy places of the Israelis illegally and unfairly fell under the jurisdiction of the Arabs. And this is despite the fact that the Arabs already have a historical homeland (including 17 Arab states) and this is the state of Saudi Arabia, the homeland of all Arabs and other states on the Arabian Peninsula, the place of origin of all Arabs. the war began with the first attack in 1948 by Arab countries on the state of Israel, thereby the Arab countries grossly violated the international charter of the UN, as in subsequent wars, the Arab countries constantly provoked and attacked Israel in 1956, in 1967, in 1973 . The Arab league (and the countries supporting these Arab states) undermined the fundamental and sacrosanct rules of UN international law. As a result of the attacks on the sovereign state of Israel, no one in the Arab countries was punished, and in various situations no one was properly punished according to UN international law, violating the Principle international law, The principle of the inviolability of the state border is written in the UN Charter, paragraph 4 of Art. 2

If Israels "rights" are contingent on denying those same rights to another group of people, then Israels right to exist is as illegitimate as they claim a Palestinian state is.
  • @lastChang
Palestinians deserve their own state. So do the Tibetans, Uyghurs, and Hong Kongers in China 🇨🇳.

Asking Isreal to live in peace with palestines is like asking Americans to live in peace or share thesame country with Taliban/Afghanistan
