SCP 096 is a humanoid creature measuring approximately 2.38 meters in height. Subject shows very little muscle mass, with preliminary analysis of body mass suggesting mild malnutrition.
SCP096 is normally extremely docile, with pressure sensors inside its cell indicating it spends most of the day pacing by the eastern wall. However, when someone views SCP-096's face, whether it be directly, via video recording, or even a photograph, it will enter a stage of considerable emotional distress. SCP-096 will cover its face with its hands and begin screaming, crying, and babbling incoherently. Approximately one (1) to two (2) minutes after the first viewing, SCP-096 will begin running to the person who viewed its face.
SCP-001 is 6’5” tall, 97 lbs (average, varies by 5-10 lbs higher or lower), unknown age, grey-brown skin (may be bruising), eye color milky blue, no hair. Emaciated appearance, bone and muscle structure unlike any recorded species. Legs are long and thin, ending in sharp black points.
SCP001 has Three fingers on each hand, also ending in black points. Legs and arms are twice as long as torso. No reproductive organs, anal orifice, ears, nose, or pores anywhere on body. Head is spherical, very large in proportion to body, neck appears too thin to support head. Mouth extends halfway around head, no lips. Twenty-one teeth, spaced randomly around mouth; many appear broken, rotten, or chipped. “Eye” is a large, ball-shaped, milky-blue sphere presumably kept in the head or throat. Appears to “roll” into the mouth when mouth is open. Has no pupil or iris.

I like the thought of the Shy Guy being a guardian of this village for so long and actively living alone in a cave until he's needed. It's really sweet and poetic and pinpoints that he's not a bad anomaly, he's just shy.

I love the part where 001 bails through the wormhole thinking about how to plan and strategise now that it had 'escaped'. Those of us familiar with 096 thinking 'oh sweetie, you're about to receive a very unpleasant surprise'

Dude the animation— That last scene of 096 regenerating his skin was more than amazing. I absolutely loved this dude—especially when it was mentioned that 096 is not actually bad. I gotta rewatch this now—

I was trying to figure out how the elder would get 096 into the village, then I realized it: He's *BLIND*. He can't see 096 at *all*! It's nice that he's considered a Guardian Spirit too. Just don't look at him, and get protection from evil.

Brings up a good point, The Foundation needs to train up an entirely blind MTF and research staff to be assigned to 096.

The shy guy is a fascinating scp and one of my favorites. It’s complex. Not evil but not good per say. It does bad things but it doesn’t want to. In this situation it shows it can be used to protect people. It’s self conscious is it’s true enemy and it battles with itself constantly.

Scp-096 looks so cool in this video. Everyone views shy guy as bad, but it's clear that he is a nesacery evil.

The Shy Guy makes sense as a guardian to a village lead by a wise blind man. Only he can open eyes face him without triggering the boiling fury since Shy Guy can feel he's not being seen

Imagine being referred to as a powerful unstoppable demon, dying the hands of the guardian of the town. But then realizing a peanut looking shaped statue breaks the guardian's bones faster than a blink of the eye.
