I made a 95% 3D Printed Folding Ghost Gun

Published 2024-07-04
I made a TOY folding Glock 17. It is full size and uses standard Glock hardware. Pretty cool stuff, but this iteration is not quite ready for release.

I was one of the engineers at Full Conceal that developed the folding glock back in 2017. You did a great job! I like how you used a thinner catch for the grip and cantilevers at the mag plate to secure it in a folded position. You did a similar thing as us using a torsion spring for the trigger to have it fold up and that really warmed my heart. Thank you for shouting us out! Mike and everyone there were great guys to work with and you helped me relive some very fond memories!

You really called it a ghost gun, and made it ghost white.

Congratulations, if you visited this video, your name is probably on a list somewhere!

thanks to fosscad, by this time next year, all 3d printed glocks will be folding.
  • Yea I promise to not put the brick of grapes in a bucket of water with yeast and sugar ๐Ÿ˜‚

That's the one thing I hate about 3D printing, getting your hands cut up constantly we're doing something completely normal and you just happen to catch that one sharp corner lol

Oh hey a video of a 3d printed toy gun, proceeds to tell you his full medical history

It's almost inevitable that with 3D printing, eventually every curious mind will wander to firearm tech. I tried to resist for a Long time, then a client informed me of a challenge and I ended up doing an entire rifle. ๐Ÿ˜

telling people not to actually shoot with it will only make them want to do it more XD

The airsoft industry haven't released a folding Glock yet ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€
  • Neat design! It would be super awesome if you could do an airsoft BB version, where we could take the internals from an easily sourced commercial product and swap them over to the printed one.
  • Calling 3d printed firearms ghost guns give them a bad name, and the term "ghost gun" usually has a negative connotation

As i'm sure you know, there's 9x18 and 9x17 ammunition that would probably fit in the mag even with the resizing. But that would imply a very specific intent of going against your warnings. Still a pretty cool concept, reminds me of the old magpul FPG which had a similar functionality, but in a much bigger package.

One funny thing I like about this is that it's literally just the FMG-9 without a stock.

Now you tell me. The Army told me in my twenties that I could walk through walls. At 59 i'm paying for it, hey will that setup work with a 2011 setup?

Love the compliance 17rd is a standard capacity magazine, but you wasted no time and went to the new standard of 10 Stay compliant, friends

Random idea here, but something that would be kinda neat would be a loop on the backplate that you could put a string through, and hang it out of your pocket for a faster draw.
