You hired someone who was discharged from the Army for serious misconduct. He had two DUI convictions. He had worked for five departments previously in three years. He was fired for driving recklessly and lying about it. A previous department expressed several concerns about him in writing. You Sheriff failed her by hiring a psychopath with all those red flags, and you should be held accountable for putting a gun in his hand. Also, the union is disgraceful for filing a grievance and should be ashamed of themselves. Not every officer deserves to be defended without question.
