The Joker lacking a backstory is an essential part of the character. You wanting one shows a lack of understanding of the character and a lack of storytelling intent. Not every characters needs so intricate backstory. Other than that, yes, TDK is very overrated.

The reason the joker doesn't have a backstory is because the minute you tell his backstory the less frightening he becomes because you fear what you don't understand. Plus you don't need to know his backstory, it's irrelevant. Just thought you should know.

I love this review!! Called out all the bullshit. Love the part where the joker is left in the interrogation room with an unarmed cop lol. Why would they do that? Then he calls to blow up the bomb and all the cops are knocked out except the joker?? Love the review dude!

I remember telling people it sucked when it came out, getting the stunned looks, and when I told people that Bale and that voice sucked, they said "I didn't notice"

@EclipseHedgehog You are right, im sure if heath had not died, people would notice how unrealistically omnipotent his character is, but since the actor died, people has convinced themselves that they have to love everything about the character in order to honor Heath

The lack of a back story for the joker I agree is a weakness. It makes for a flat character with no development or understanding of why he is the way he is. I actually feel sorry for ledger--he obviously worked so hard to get this role down--if only their had been a role there for him to grow into.
