I'm met him at this club in Manhattan in like 2018. We briefly met, and he gave me very nice compliments, but he was definitely high on something. I remember telling my friend after I met him, " he should've NEVER moved back to NYC, he's just gonna get back into drugs again". And he we are....

Alig was the bohemian equivalent of a jock who peaked in high school. His art was derivative. And being visibly high is cute when you’re 20 and in bad taste after you’re 30 😂

It's crazy seeing former Club Kids, now in their late 50s and 60s.

I know he had a hard life and was a drug addict but he was objectively a bad person and a murderer, his art was just recreations of other people's more popular designs and an obvious sign of his ongoing obsession with Warhol. Video is great but I hate how people are so forgiving of someone that made the choice to not only violently murder someone but toss them out like garbage.

It's sad when people who are obviously creative have no soul or conciousness.

I was not a club kid, however, did frequent Limelight in early 90’s and must say that the club scene in those days were the most vibrant, creative , exotic and mysterious display of nightlife any one could have experienced

It's so sad to see Michael when he was very young and think how he could have made a huge go of his life then seeing how it panned out.... So sad.

A man was killed like trash, and to glamorize the killer is a sociopathic in itself. James St. James was an opportunist who used Alig for profit and Alig didn't have enough sense to know because Alig was a sociopathic narcissist. However, the guilt took its toll and Alig died of heroin overdose in 2020.
  • Oh yeah, it was Michael Alig that interviewed Desmond the "drag kid," with a massive painting behind him with the word, "Rohypnol." How weird to have two grown men on either side a kid, interviewing him, and the kid looking doped up, in front of that painting.

“People are always saying my personality is infectious , but this is ridiculous! “ . What a quote .

He really was just actung like he didn't chopped up a human being right?! Like he really thought he was a celebrity
  • Thank you for this. Through your channel and the Peew, I'd sort of kept up on Alig until around 2019. He even replied to one of my comments way back when. But I was clueless about the last year or so of his life. Now I know. It's hard to feel pity for him, but at the same time I know all too well what addiction can do to a person, so... I just hope the family of his victim have finally been able to find peace, as well as Michael.

For someone who fucked up as bad as he did he sure was given tons of opportunities and second chances once paroled.
  • This was an absolute great video to watch! Thank you! You did such a great job! Thank you
  • Thank you for making this video. I did watch bits and pieces of the Pew channel but it always felt so lo-fi and grimy, I just didn't really get into most of it. I had no idea about the various controversies and missteps. You always have so much information to give us.
