  • Hi everyone! I’ve created a pinterest @mikaelacarrizo where I have my ‘closet’ inspiration and will be creating outfit inspiration boards for each season! I will keep adding to each board every time I see something appropriate for a specific season, hope you enjoy!
  • I'm wondering why no makeup or fashion line hasn't come up yet with a collection or a palette for the different types of seasons. That will be so helpful and popular!
  • @Pizzelle
I finally understand why I look dead with nude lipstick! Super helpful!

2:58 Omgsh thank you for including that dark winter’s skin can be neutral and both gold & silver look good. Color analyses have always confused me bcuz I can wear both gold & silver jewelry.

this explains why i look “alive” in burgundy red, navy and black and look pale and washed out in mustard yellow, tan brown, and cream. Just looked at my camera roll and almost all of my pictures im wearing red, navy, white or black. I’ll try to branch out in emerald greens! Thanks sooo much <3
  • I remember wearing a super dark purple/burgundy lipstick when I was a barista in highschool. I had a woman approach me and say "that's your color." And since then, I've heavily identified with dark winter colors. I did get typed recently though, just out of curiosity, and it came back just as that! My signature color...... black. But I like having guidance for other colors lol

I think in my opinion another evidence of dark winter is feeling better with a little bit of eye make up than nothing. Because of the high contrast between eyes and skin the contrast asks for a bit of definition around the eyes to softnen everything, almost as a buffer/transition layer. I feel like I look a bit sick without it.
  • 13:50, wow this is really helpful and explains why "no makeup makeup" almost always makes me look dead, even if I try to make sure I've added enough blush. Looks very very odd on me, never seems "enough"

I found out that I was dark winter in the early 90s. I discovered that my entire wardrobe contained colors from the winter scale and black, white and gray as base colors. I had been drawn to those colors instinctively before I got to know my own season. Our brain is wise and chooses right for us. You just have to trust it. Even the interior design in my home is in the same color scheme as the wardrobe! Dark winter has so much contrast in its appearance and does not need much makeup. We have strong eyebrows and dark eyes and in most cases prominent bone structure by nature. A little concealer, loose powder and mascara will go a long way. But you need red lipstick in quantities as the icing on the cake.😀 Thanks for a great video. ❤
  • I thought I was dark autumn because my brown skin glows in the sun so I just assumed I had warm undertones but like wow this video was so enlightening and makes me feel much better about being dark winter knowing how versatile our palette is
  • @maile.s
I always wondered why I feel meh wearing brown despite having brown hair and brown eyes. I know now it’s because it’s low contrast and warm! Same with my feelings on wearing grey. Instead I am so drawn to black and it looks so effortless! Thank you, this really solidified that I’m a dark winter.

I had to pause this video to share how incredibly in depth you are on the deep winter analysis. Your note on neutral lips washing out a deep winter confirmed that I am in fact a deep winter. I would always wonder why neutral make up made me look sickly and always found myself opting for a red lip to bring life to my face . Saving this video as a constant reference for myself

I want to add that for us olives it's particularly hard to determine the undertone. Kept wondering why browns wash me out, warm-red lipsticks look clownish on me and the one time a professional makeup artist put a frosty pink lipstick on me was the one time I looked good before I discovered color analysis and practically married the color purple, especially wine purple which is now my go-to to everything that isn't foundation, mascara and shoes, something that as a fellow DW I'm sure you can relate to. 14:50 I think it needs to be mentioned that nude looks wrong on a DW because our lips shouldn't be nude - they look tinted even without makeup, which isn't true for, say, Summers and Light Springs and Soft Autumns, who are easily overpowered by the lipsticks we need to just look like we have any makeup on. I noticed both on myself and other DWs I saw with no makeup that this 'dark pink' on Kendall often IS the natural color of lighter-toned DWs. A 'nude' looks that strays from one's natural colors is usually a bad idea.
  • Very wonderful. Thank you! Dark winters don't get enough love!! I would love summer style tips for dark winter. We rock the sweaters, but its so hard styling yourself as a dark winter in hot weather.
  • @merakiiui
I couldn't really decide if I'm dark winter or autumn so I ended up trying both colour palettes on me when I'm going out and I can not explain how many compliments I got when I wore dark winter colours I got things like "these colours look gorgeous on you", "your makeup today suits you so well" and stuff like that, unlike when I wore dark autumn colours I would never get that many compliments. if you're confused just try both and see which looks better🤷🏻‍♀️
  • @annegelicuh
idk if this is a coincidence but most women who were mentioned in this video are born during the winter season. i'm also a winter season baby & i always thought that i'm a dark autumn but i remember several people mentioned to me that navy blues, deep reds, & emerald green are my trademark colors as it compliments my pale skin
  • @ninalou4629
Im a dark winter but being a pale olive undertone blush is quite frankly the most important step of my makeup routine else I look unwell. Its just a pale olive thing. We look 100 times better with blush on. I always thought an all white dress or whatnot didnt not look good on me & ive been avoiding all white for years. Now If I wear it its white pants or skirts. I keep it far away from my face. Thanks for confirmation !
  • @maimayme
All of these things I knew worked for me but I couldn't explain why! This video has been able to explain why I don't usually wear nude lips, browns or yellows and why I don't usually wear eye shadow. There were a lot of ah ha! Moments. Thank u!
  • @pandaman9490
I’m glad you mentioned that an all white look isn’t as flattering on a DW; I thought I was crazy for thinking it, but it makes sense. White looks better on me sparingly and I prefer it away from my face than close to it. I almost wish I was a bright winter because I love how white looks on darker skin (I realize now that they are bright winters), but the contrast just looks weird on me unfortunately. Do you think a black wedding dress (or a dark blue/purple one) would be more flattering than a white one on DW? It’s unorthodox but I’m not religious to care about it anyways.
  • I would say that if you want a muted lip look and you are a Dark Winter, then Clinique Black Honey (or any of its dupes) would work wonderfully!
