My mother gave that exact same apology: "If I had known how much it was going to affect you, I wouldn't have done it". With her, it's "my issue", it's not that circumcision is intrinsically bad. I believe one of the greatest harms of circumcision, at least for me, over the last few decades has been knowing that circumcision harmed my sexuality in a very real and personal way, but having no source of reference, corroboration, or validation to prove that what I knew to be right was in fact right in the minds of everyone else in the world. Up until 2009 when I started researching the subject online, I had not heard so much as a peep about circumcision good, bad, or ugly. It has to be something horrific to be so bad that nobody even dares to talk about it. Now that it has finally came out for some limited discussion among the general public, we as circumcised men are the subjects of the most severe forms of "Gas Lighting" that I have ever witnessed. We have truth on our side though. The light has been turned on, and the cockroaches are scurrying for cover.
  • I've outed my parents online and followers said that they would not circumcise their son because of it. It wasn't logic, or biology, it was an emotional ledger that circumcision causes impotence and make your child despise you

I don't like family things anyway, I just stay home, no gifts, just food (vegan).  Its the carcass munching I can't stand.

This would only have an effect in families that have less than three kids in total, and all of them are cut and hate it. Otherwise, parents will certainly have a shoulder to cry on, and be able to emotionally afford being ignored by one of their kids. If I put this in overly abstract terms, I could name specific examples.

I am pretty convinced that Jesus was not circumcised. Are you?
  • I was thinking thanksgiving, since it is supposedly a bigger travel holiday, but perhaps Christmas would be better. Lets draft some press talking points too, and anyone who is sympathetic but (for whatever reason) wouldnt stay home can help by calling the holiday desks of as many papers as they can, to report something like "My brother/uncle/husband is staying home this holiday in solidarity with men upset about their circumcision. Have you covered this yet? Its widespread across the country." Gregory, you or I could offer to be point of contact people for this, or we could try to get NCFM, NORM, honeybadgers, AVFM, J4MB involved. I think the more the merrier with this. Start making twitter bots, boys. Edit: Thanksgiving is, indeed, a bigger travel holiday. Christmas is only larger in terms of money spent. Im looking forward to more discussion on this topic. Someone should post it to r/mensrights, they loved Sand in the Gears of Civilization.
  • States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard
  • You can't get along with your parents???I can sure understand why.
  • How ridiculous. You should be embarrassed. Who cares if you don't show up. We'll have more food for someone else. It sounds like a baby having a tantrum. If you boycott your family you are the one who will suffer by not being with the family.
