Been on nights for 3 years, can confirm 100% accuracy here. What you forgot to mention is when we work side jobs we have to somehow get used to being awake in the morning for a couple of days before going back to night shift mode
-
What I tell every recruit. "Get ready for lack of sleep and cold dinners."
-
I must have been gone a long time, where did all this hair come from?
-
Graves is where it's at!! I work 4 on 3 off, then 3 on with 4 off + mandatory overtime 6 PM-7 AM. Love my job!!
-
Damn. You really did Firefighters like that😂
-
I'm actually heading in now. 6pm-6am. Nights sucks, for me. As soon as I get home, my wife heads to work. Nice beard btw.

I'm not a cop, but my kid is. I know I don't have to tell you this, but a cop is never really "off duty". Always watching, always aware, always on guard....always ON DUTY!👍🇺🇸 THANK YOU to ALL!!
-
Yet, people like you manage to keep up with this hectic job and sometimes a thankless job. So, a huge thank you for your service.

I love your videos! I just took the Civil Service exam and physical fitness test for my local department here in central Texas. Thank you for the information over the past few years!
-
welcome back. we missed you 401!!!!!

I worked on a ambulance squad overnight for 10 hours. We slept most of the time too, until toned out. My then PD did 8 hour shifts. As a rook I had to do all the crap shifts that nobody else wanted. With seniority I got onto day shift. Now I'm retired & feeling lost. I miss the department
-
Glad to see you’re doing okay! We missed you 401!!

I am scheduled for 64 hours this week. We normally work five 8s. When the department is short handed or people are sick. The police still have to be there. Be prepared for the hours. It is still a great career, just know what it is.

Honestly don’t think it gets any worse then working at a Constantly Understaffed Jail as a Corrections Officer, so many16 hour shifts, it was rare for me to end the pay period with less then 120 hours
-
I just took the civil service exam partially thanks to you. Waiting on my PAT. Much respect and appreciation! I want to protect and serve with all my heart. Welcome back 401! Say hello to Mrs 401 for me

Interesting point with court apperance..... That would NOT be legal in Norway. If you have court during the day, you would not be allowed to work that entire previous night. Max time at work would be 13 hours per 24hours. Then rest for some hours before you are allowed back. The Dept would have to find someone else to cover your shift. Kinda surprising the PD would allow it, considering the liability and bad press if you make mistakes after being awake for so long.... Edit: I have also worked the 'Mon, tuesday, friday-Sunday and then wednesday thursday the following week' shift. I hated it. I would rather work one full week, then one week off.

Thank you for sharing and thank you for protect people and other policeofficers .

Would love to see an episode covering the best technologies, such as phone apps, - the “must have” and recommended apps and gadgets for cops and investigators.

If you find a large department with a full time SWAT team. It’s pretty much just like being a firefighter. Just saying

Love your vids, thank you. I am on my way to academy 17 weeks now because of your motivation! 😊
