The event seamlessly transitioned through various moods, with IOC president Thomas Bach praising the games and emphasizing their potential for peace. The Olympic flag was handed over to Los Angeles for the next Games. India's Manu Bhaker and PR Sreejesh, who have been announced as the official flag bearers for the Paris Olympics closing ceremony, were felicitated by the IOA. Indian Men's Hockey Team Goalkeeper PR Sreejesh said, "it is a great honour. It is my last tournament and I have got the opportunity to carry our flag in the closing ceremony." Olympics medalist Manu Bhaker said, "I am very happy. Carrying the national flag in the closing ceremony will be an honour."
