Cheap sh!t from China part 2. - Examining some cycling soft goods from ebay, amazon and ali express. If you're just beginning then some of the lower priced jerseys offer good value but they are not the most fashionable. The shorts, well they will do for a while but will likely break down after the first season. You don't need a $200 cycling kit just to get out there on the bike but you do need some padded shorts for sure and these would be an budget option in that case and that's what I started with.
3/15/2019 Wanted to add a little update. Thought I would give it one more shot and try to order a kit that seemed decent, total smoke and mirrors with these ali sellers, the product was totally different than the one shown in the listing. The one in the listing in fact was stolen from another companies website. When I went to make a complaint aliexpress sends an automated response and gives you a run around. No one actually looks at counterfeit infringement on the site after you make a complaint, you have to actually talk to a rep and then they say oh yes we take this seriously, yet the listing are not removed. This site and it's "legacy" and culture is build on fraud and steeling from other people. Numerous brands have been popping up now, gobik, bontrager, santini, extendo and now a lot of shimano is popping up now that it's available on the UK mail order sites. The shimano products are legit, but the sellers are often not trust worthy and they have a devious shipping policies that are apparent now. The seller delays shipping for what appears to be 10-14 days, and charging for shipping but is still using china post (insanely cheap rates) this gives them more time to avoid possible consequences.
