I always found modern Metallica to have a lot of songs that grow on you instead of liking it instantly.

Fucking monster of a song! Great stuff. Like if Sad But True and The Thing That Should Not Be had a baby, and the baby was raised by Alice In Chains.

James: formal shirt Kirk: formal shirt Lars: henley Rob: lemme go with a beater
  • Sad but True/The Thing That Should Not Be vibes. I love thrash Metallica, but I also love heavy Metallica... and progressive Metallica, and melodic Metallica. In conclusion, I love Metallica 🎸

This is so fuckin cool. Sounds like Sad but true with a little bit of harvester of sorrow riffage, reload vibes and alice in chains vocals. God this album is fuckin cool. We have the thrash, the groove, the mellow moments and incredible vocals from James. Fuck yeah

He sleeps under black seas waiting Lies dreaming in death He sleeps under cosmos shaking Stars granting his breath He wakes as the world dies screaming All horrors arrive He wakes giving earth its bleeding Pure madness alive And He haunts you And He blinds your soul And He loathes you And reclaims it all You turn to stone Can't look away You turn to stone Madness, they say Cthulhu awaken He sways in abyss returning Inhaling black skies He shakes with a torture burning All lost in his eyes And He haunts you And He blinds your soul And He loathes you And reclaims it all You turn to stone Can't look away You turn to stone Madness, they say Cthulhu awaken You turn to stone Can't look away You turn to stone Madness, they say Sanity taken Seething damnation Cthulhu awaken (Wake) Winged Salvation Death by creation Cthulhu, awaken (Wake) Dreaming no more Cthulhu, awaken (Wake) Dreaming no more Cthulhu, awaken (Wake) Dreaming no more
  • I love how the trilogy tells a story. Call of ktulu- this takes place eons ago, in primitive earth, on a cliff side. The starspawns arrive and attempt to summon Cthulhu, but when he emerges, he wreaks havok and the starspawns die of insanity or being devoured by him. The thing that should not be- centuries later, the tales of Cthulhu are still being known by few. There is a cult, and this song is sang by one of the memebers, praying to father, roaming free in a mysterious unheard-of undersea lost city. He is waiting there, not just in there, sleeping, but also waiting between space and time itself, in strange eons, where even death may die. They are planning on him to return. Dream no more- secretly, these almost inhuman cult members, claiming to be descendants of the starspawns, are infiltrating normal human society. The man in this video crawls on the shore area, almost as if washed ashore, like an aquatic creature.( also notice how the dude in the video almost seems to be learning all this from humans, and is going unnoticed by everybody else.) The starspawns are returning from the ocean, the lost city, infiltrating human society. It is time, for father to return.
