Not always aiming for the basket is some of the best advice I've heard for all skill levels 🔥
  • Thanks for the shout out! 😂Probably a coincidence but I do watch many many videos of yours. Getting back into the sport after a 20yr hiatus. You have really helped me start getting it back and even improving. That’s why the Robbie C birdy patch will always have a home on my main bag ✊🏻

Ive been throwing just putters this year and its a game changer. I dont play enough to get to know lots of discs, throwing one stable disc consistently has probably cut around a shot per hole off my score.
  • By far lately one of my favorite videos and I did this last weekend at a tourney and didn’t realize this video was right up that alley. Great instructions for better scores and rounds
  • My to go to teacher at disc golf. You have done so much to my game. Thank you for 5 great tips!
  • Going for par is by far the best advice - especially beginners who are just starting to get better. Brining this into tournament play (MA3) does wonders for your mental game, game plans, and execution.
  • My best round at my local for over a year... was a Pig only round... I've only taken 1 stroke off that since in the 1.5yrs since...

Omg the Ash ketchum reference is gold
  • I think we all have a tendency to get Birdie focused and we forget how powerful playing for par (avoiding bogeys) is. It is always exciting to see that Pro tour player with the colorful card with bogeys and birdies, but then you see the other player that just played within his/her game with no bogeys beating most of the field. Great stuff Robbie!

"Play for par" and "Don't be a hero" are the biggest tips I live by. Side request, bring back that sweet calming background music from 2022, even for just 1 video. Great video as always!!
  • I love my pig! Hoping to play for some Pars on a new course this weekend if the weather agrees! Still pretty new.
  • Playing to par has shaved about 7 strokes off my game for 18 holes. (I’m pretty new to the sport and still throwing 10-15 over at my favorite course.) Unless I’m have a “hit every tree” day. Then it wouldn’t matter anyway! My cold shoulder disc right now is the roadrunner. I threw it so well for about a month. Found the heat, now I burn the roadrunner over for a roller every time I try to use it. I did learn that star plastic is awesome with it though!
  • Excellent 👌, just that stop n thinking about the shots rather than single focus.
  • I have a cool rule of thumb for better rounds. Whatever your max distance is, divide it by 50 and that's the fastest speed disc you should throw in a round that REALLY matters to you. You'll throw cleaner lines and get in less trouble by finishing closer to the center of the fairway
  • Tip 5 is a big one. I think everyone understands it in regards to putters and hand feel, but once it gets up to faster discs, it becomes "the archer not the arrow." Seemingly hand feel falls to the wayside once it stops being a putter. As someone who plays with mostly Innova, I really want to love the Mako3, and the cult-like following of the Mako3 makes me feel like I have to love it and throw it well. Truth is, it's just not as comfortable in my hand as the Jay, and it accomplishes the flight that I would get out of the Mako3, but with more consistency and confidence. Thanks for posting Robbie!
  • 3 is my biggest problem. Looking at a lot of holes I usually try to reach and take bogeys on I've come to the conclusion I could work up the fairway gradually for a par or even still a look for birdie. Trying to reach the basket with every throw kills me. Not because I can't reach but the mistakes get bigger with every foot distance you add to the throw it seems? Nice vid!
