The knife flip wasn’t useless. It singlehandedly made people remember it as their favorite marvel fight lol
  • I lost it at "idk why Chad wouldn't like me to wave this dangerous and definitely sharp knife around him, I'm a professional" lmao
  • @Demonamic777
The funniest part of this scene is that Howard Stark told Rogers back in the 40s that Hydra wasn't going to come at him with a pocket knife, then out comes Bucky and his endless supply of pocket knives!
  • I never knew about the type of knife the Winter Soldier used. It adds to the character knowing it's a modern version of a WW2 knife. Kind of like the Winter soldier and Cap themselves. Good job guys keep it up.

Winter Solider is probably in my top 5 movies of all times. It works on so many levels: As a superhero movie, as an action movie, as a spy movie... You don't even have to be into superheros to love this movie.
  • @garmaruz
I think the reason Cap jams his shield into the tricep of Buckys metal arm is because he realizes it’s mechanical and is trying to break it. The plates on Buckys arm catches the shield , Cap then senses he can’t break it so he pulls back and throws a strike.
  • This wasnt a scenic fights breakdown, but a nerd out session btw marvel fans and both logan and chad! LOVE IT
  • @Scarran
It looks to me like Winter Soldier tossed his knife to confuse Steve. I noticed Steve's eyes following the knife, and he was still keeping up with his strikes and counters. Soldier tosses the knife up..breaking the rhythm and making Steve unsure of what the hell is going on..as you notice he IMMEDIATELY stops attacking for a few beats. Buck knows how skilled his opponent is so any doubt he can toss into the fight works to his advantage.

Chris Evans said that when he was doing fight scenes, he was kinda a dancer. Dancing helped him do the fight better.
  • @jamieyip2267
16:33 Love the fact that Tony likely noticed this, and later in Civil War, he tells Spiderman/Peter to go for the legs.
  • I’ve read somewhere that Bucky’s choreographers deliberately had him do the dexterous knife stuff with his flesh and blood hand, and leaned more into heavy power strikes with the metal arm (which likely wouldn’t have had the same level of precision). I always appreciate attention to detail like that
  • @fettel1988
This is one of the coolest fights in Marvel. I think I came when he did the midair flip of the knife. Just a raw, very human fight in a world of super robots, aliens, humans.
  • @thatguyshaq7053
The fact that they took into account that these guys are superhumans and have scifi weapons. Considering the arm as the primary and knife as secondary was just a level of detail most other people dont take into consideration.
  • @RedSynced
Fun fact Bucky is right handed. Hence why you see him use the titanium arm less since it's his left arm.
  • @neoshenlong
I like these guys, they respect the spectacle of the scene, they acknowledge that this is happening in a world of fiction, but they are also providing legit analysis and real world context and equivalents to the movements used. Nice.
  • @manncavemoment
This is actually the best fighting breakdown channel I've seen so far most other places would just said the fights unrealistic and not know anything about the MCU you guys at least brought up the weapon type that Bucky had and knew the kind of metal that cap shield was made out of every other channel wouldn't have known that information in fact I want to see you guys break down the second fight between Captain Bucky later on in the movie
  • @AirbenderHawk
MMA fighters who are big nerds of marvel!? That’s the ultimate combo and yes, this fight scene is still fresh to this day, years after its release, as a martial artist and big nerd in general, this puts a smile on my face because of the in depth breakdown you both do.
