5:35 Daily life of Empire frontline soldiers being blasted from behind
  • Something I discovered recently: If you hold Alt and right click with an artillery unit, it will start firing on the AREA you selected rather than targeting a unit. So, if you aim a Hellstorm or Mortar to the back of an enemy unit locked in melee with your army, you will risk FAR less friendly fire damage while still allowing your artillery to fire.
  • Faith, steel, and gunpowder. This time with a nice purple aesthetic to it.
  • Great to see CA finally listening to their audience with this new DLC. And cheers to you for the Warhammer content - my favorite youtube-warhammer-dude.

On the surface this looks like an even better version of skryres forbidden workshop. And i love play high damage ranged armies, so this should fit perfect. The empire shall rule all!

Lol none of this happened on my run... I couldn't recruit swordsmen, nor spear+shield footmen... and when I finally took the final providence the vampire court had... the savage orcs immediately declared war on me, wiping out what little army I had left. SO redoing... GREAT video though! ♥
  • A great thing to know with all artillery is how to manually tell your art where to shoot. select your art, hold alt and right click the ground. I've had amazing results with the mortars, telling them to aim at the backside of the front lines and they consistently decimate the enemy troops without hitting my own. Same for cannons (shooting at angles) HellStorm Rockerts (same as mortars but maybe slightly further behind the enemy because damn they scatter so much.) Just be sure to tell them to stop when the enemy routes so your troops aren't rushing forward into no mans land.
  • Could you shout at CA to change the Nuln Gunnery School landmark? Again? When IE launched, the landmark didn't have the recruitment options it had in Warhammer II. Those were then added and we lost them again with this new DLC. This seems like a major oversight. Other landmarks like Drazhoath's Infernal Barracks also suffer from this, where you can't recruit the associated units and would need to double-dip building-wise, which is pointless and suboptimal.
  • Another tip, Nuln Ironsides are surprisingly decent in melee so while you don't want them not shooting, they can hold their own for a little bit
  • You really make the greatest guides! Not only showing the faction but revealing every thing important. On the other hand we get some tips for fights and how to play in general. Thank you ❤
  • Gotta say for the first time I'm actually tempted to play Empire. That's right I have never played Empire, not once in eight years have I ever wanted to play the Empire until now.

I've discovered that I suck at the Realm of Chaos campaign - especially when playing order factions - when it's time to go through the first portal, I never have an army to spare.

Capture any land around (or in) Kislev so you can trade it for Imperial land, if you need too.

@Zerkovich You have picked terrible side in first battle. The hill on the other side of small valley is much better: 1) Enemy starts further, which means your long range artilery have longer time to pound them 2) You can track movement of enemy the whole time, if you start near forest you risk that they will hide among the trees 3) The hill you picked is not straight slope, it has bumbs, which means your range units will have troubles - you even mentioned that but still picked the wrong side

I can suggest a better start and unit combo if you dont mind. Turn 1 build warrior priest building for early WP then demolish. Early WP with his replenishment and growth can save many turns of attrition and downtime throughout your campaign. For units recruit free company militia (gains all the buffs from gunnery school) as your mainline. With gunnery upgrades and checkerboard gun tactics they become quite formidable and can serve well till mid game, when you start replacing them with amethyst ironsides and Hochland longrifles. Gardens of Morr is an amazing teleport and recruitment structure. The 3rd building in it, forgetting the name, gives replenishment, local recruitment of knights, handgunners, halbers and mortars, and 1 turn global recruitment. Basicaly with a gardens of morr, you can recruit a full army in 2 turns. About their placement, ive never needed it in Nuln. How i like to do is, after completing my two starting provinces, i will rush Vlad, beat him and as soon as i complete sylvania, ill put my first garden in a walled empire settlement closest to Festus and immediately teleport there. Build the 3rd recruitment structure in the garden and global recruit hochland long rifles and/or knights of black rose from same structure and bum rush Festus. as soon as i wipe him out, ill build the 2nd garden next to Kemmler, immediately teleport there and finish him, then 3rd garden goes as and where empire needs helping. This way im placing the gardens at all the strategic frontiers for the future as well as arriving there in the nick of time to finish of the threats. Plus they become recruitment points for future armies. Sorry for the wordwall.

One small thing they did swap the rocket battery for a hellfire volley gun in the live game
