  • Crew skills and your own skills aren’t the same for example Sam coe piloting level 4 only increases you max speed, if you too get the lvl 4 skill they’ll stack up but it won’t stack between crew members so if you’ve got Sam coe and another crew member giving you the piloting skill, only the highest of the two will be effective, they also don’t give exactly the same perks as your own skills

Thanks! I'm over 500 hours now & it's still worthwhile watching a video like this!

Awesome tips! I’m going to be jumping into this game here soon. So this will help me

Tip #11: You can equip Shielded Cargo Bays onto your ship (or shielded containers inside) to help with passing orbit scans. Just make sure to deposit the "goods" into the ship storage before you grav jump to an occupied space. After a successfully passed scan just go sell the contraband to the Trade Authority. Bonus suggestion: Turn off floating markers. You can track where you need to go via the scanner (shows a path) and a marker via the compass on the bottom left of the screen.

Glad I'm not the only player that loves this game. There is a lot of hate for the game, but i think it's great.

One thing I like about Starfield is being able to experiment with different approaches to a mission/task. I've managed to get items while avoiding murder and bounties, but it comes through a willingness to explore or grind. Most people may not know that sometimes the game (at least on console) occasionally counts turrets or robots as a murder. If you've wondered where you killed someone despite being careful, that's likely it. Regarding the skill tree, I sometimes combine skills requiring similar methods...like dueling and concealment...that way I'm replenishing them all at once. One last note, building a skill doesn't require jumping into the fray berserker-style. Most of the time I'll pick a low tier, abundant planet and rack up those skills quickly and easily.
  • Fair play to you still putting out guides for Starfield. I just couldn't keep up that kind of interest in the game. Handy for new players though.

I only recently started playing after the big patch. This is super helpful! Thank you so much for making this video.

Good quick summary of key points for beginners.

If you want to make the game more immersive, another tip is that you don't HAVE to use the map screen all the time. If you're heading somewhere for a mission, just point your ship towards the marker and use the jump option. If you're at a planet, open the scan mode and major landing spots will show. Point your aim reticule at one and use the land option. Also, I'm about 500 hours into the game and I've never seen an asteroid give aluminum. Iron, nickel, and water are really common, other minerals less so, but I've never seen aluminum. Finally, sensor contacts on the map screen are always worth checking out. Sometimes they're ships, (hostile, friendly, or abandoned) and sometimes they're cargo crates.

Thanks for the video, subbed. I would like to see the outpost video 👍

I see everyone recommending selling Contaband at the Den, and it's a great tip... But honestly it sucks the fun out of the game. This ISN'T smuggling, and any invested skill in smuggling is kind of wasted. I think Bethesda fumbled in this area of the game, it would have been nice to have individuals in cities buy specific contraband for MUCH more, considering you were able to get it past security

Nice vid, just subscribed. I have it on gamepass but purchased the $40 dlc before launch last year. I quickly jumped off it last September for a few reasons, one being no vehicle while on planets to explore. Haven't played since. I like what I've been seeing with updates and I'm really looking forward to the land Rover which looks to be releasing with shattered space this fall. Lately, I've been getting the itch to really dive into this game so my question is do you suggest waiting for the expansion\land vehicle update?

You are better off finding plants that produce sealant, and either building a farm (greenhouse) or running around gathering it from plants.

I liked the game in general, but the fact that the enemy bases are ridiculously repetitive, with the same handful of lay-outs, and the same enemies in the same positions, made me eventually stop playing. There is little replay value for me. They should have devised a procedural generation mechanic for planetary bases. I don't understand why they did not do so. It would have completely changed the experience.
  • you can also fast travel from the mission menu by hitting x....as long as your'e not encumbered. So for me....maybe 3% of the time
