My first encounter of racism in my life I was 9 years old, walking home from school and another pupils mum was shouting racial abuse at me in my face screaming at the top of her lungs in front of a lot of people. I continued walking home whilst crying my eyes out. I finally got home and my mum saw & came out of our house and immediately beat this woman up. My mum who was in her 40s at the time a white lady that had never fought in her life being forced the fight because her son was being racially abused in the street. My mum turned to alcohol not long after that. It wasn’t the last time I was racially abused either. I wholeheartedly get where Trevor is coming from.
  • I moved to Blackpool in the 90s and used to Go And watch him play at Bloomfield road. I have vivid memories of him with those dreadlocks running down the wing. He scored a last minute winner away at stoke in March 1993 when Bruce Grobbelaar was on loan for stoke. Stoke top of the league and hadn’t lost at home all season. Blackpool 5th from bottom and that goal ultimately kept Blackpool up. Great days.

Trevor is spot on. The Jamie Carragher thing is laughable in comparison to how he's been treated. As with Joey Barton getting backing on a podcast and management opportunities. We're talking about a winger who's played in a World Cup, being passed over on Talksport for someone who ended up at Billericay Town. He'd be more worthy of being on Sky than Micah Richards for starters! Easily, the best winger I've seen live for West Ham (sorry Lazaridis) and have met him a few times. A genuinely nice bloke.

Ben it wasn't intense....it was illuminating.....a thinking man is a rare beast but a thinking English man proud of his irish & Jamaican heritage is dangerous....almost subversive & revolutionary....in essence he's a real authentic honest MAN....thank you Trevor for sharing....loved to have met your mother....wish you well in life....

I fully agree with Trevor Sinclair 100 percent. 💯💯

Excellent points made by Mr Sinclair. Racism is embedded in U.K. society. I just looked at comments on talk sport over the tweet and there’s very little understanding what it must have been like growing up as a black kid. All the best to Trevor in his future. Top man!
  • Regardless of where in the world you are, so as long as one' doesn't question the authority of the establishment, they'll be "successful" in every area of their lives; especially in media. There's a narrative in media, individuals, and establishments that must fit into and follow the script. Individuals like Trevor are monitored, analysed, and acted upon accordingly by the firm. We have a deep-rooted problem in Britain that needs to be questioned, answered, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

Bit odd how jamie Carragher spits at kids nothing. Disagree with Trevor sinclair regarding certain things but he was treated harshly by talksport.

Very intelligent guy, really enjoyed this one. Would probably say he's one of the best guests there's been here so again well done Ben (hence why I've subscribed). Isn't afraid to tell it how it is and makes some great points, very few of which I can't agree with. And that bicycle kick, I just remember the height it was - incredible goal.

I am QPR Fan and I use to watch Trevor play for the club was great player and big respect.
  • @Resenbrink
To be honest I would have liked more about how he got his first contract, what playing in the 4th division was like, training etc - stuff like that. Still a very enjoyable listen and nice to hear Trevor talk.
  • @ramsderby9705
