  • Are people's brains so addled by social media that they can't just enjoy a bloke gently examining one of sport's greatest ever cultures...?
  • @Nick_R_
What an interesting man. Thoughtful, candid, yet respectful, highly articulate and full of reflections.
  • @comedychannels
The fact that he can be trusted and is solid as a rock is a rare quality , respect to Mike Phelan

He's not boring he's a proper down to earth fella. I picked up 18 months ago. Nice fella.
  • @ItsUnitedAgain
Absolutely outstanding in 1991 Cup Winners Cup Final v Barcelona.
  • @glimmerlad
Great to hear these details from Mike. Such a great servant of the club!

Absolutely Love Mick Phelan. Top, top man. In a world of bluffers and snake oil salesman. One of Sir Alex’s special talents was the ability to surround himself people like Mick. Honest, straight talking, hard working staff willing to take on the ultimate challenge of developing themselves and those around them of representing Manchester United ❤
  • People will say he’s boring. But ultimately he’s just very old school and isn’t going to gossip about what happened in the dressing room. And to be fair, you’ve got to respect that. Even if it is underwhelming to watch.

Lost respect for him after his interview with Talksports. He defended Ole with reasons which could very well be applied to Ten Hag, yet he said Ten Hag doesn’t merit a second chance. Rode on SAF coattail long enough, time to be your own man. His body language during the Rangnick days was bang out of order.

The clarity he has for his own role is really impressive. I know ppl wish for more 'masala' but it seems to be that is how he did his job too. Tunnel vision n all that.
  • This us a quality episode. This guy has everything that this new generation won’t understand or appreciate a bit
  • Hello, Ben. Today I became a subscriber to your channel and watched this episode, as my first. I want to praise you for being an excellent presenter: you ask short and specific questions, you don't interrupt the guest and you listen carefully to what the guest is saying. Few presenters today can boast of these qualities. Keep up the good work and I will continue to enjoy your channel. Greetings from Belgrade, Serbia.

He’s boring, but he speaks really well. Mick’s a legend who has definitely made the most of his career and chances. The players always spoke highly of him as well.
  • @jaumartin
and go back to search the video of MP bursting the balloon still got me cracking 😂😂😂 good old days
  • He's a top man, Mike Phelan. Should really still have a role at Utd in some capacity, knows the club inside out & what a winning culture looks like.
  • @JRA73
I could imagine training Roy Keane was one of the easiest things to do as a coach......... the best don't need telling much to a certain degree and one of the many reasons why he was as good as he was. YNWA!! ✌
  • @pers-jam
At the beginning of Solskjaers run, they had a bigger rotation of the squad and everybody got a chance. The moment Ole got the full time job, the rotation was shortened and the players looked a little tired or burned out at the end.
  • @MrChelseaboy25
Find him quite likable tbh.. but just one thing.. why is he wearing his own initials?
  • @davidcooper4752
Wonder why he never ever mentioned Hull City, would of been nice to hear his take on his stint at the club
