I remember being in the lower centenary stand at Anfield, and danny was getting real stick from the supporters. He wasn't playing well at the time. I kept shouting words o f encouragement when he would run up the wing. After the final whistle he came over and applauded me for the support. Never forgot that.

Danny is such an underrated pundit. Makes valid, thought through points. Just because he doesn’t make a joke out of everything like some of the modern pundits, he doesn’t get the plaudits. Absolutely love him on Talksport with Simon Jordan.

Liverpool fan for over 50 years and Danny Murphy was one of my fav players… Today, he’s a brilliant pundit and his interview here is the man I knew him to be. Really enjoyed it.

Could listen to this all day long. Danny Murphy is one of the most mature, knowledgeable and likeable ex pros on tv and radio. Pure class đź‘Ś

Always talks well for me Danny, honest, knowledgeable and says the right things and sometimes the wrong things, which is why I like him and how he comes across. Type of guy who strikes me as if you had the pleasure to speak to, could probably chat with him for hours about allsorts such is his nature and decent persona he seems to emit. Good work on getting him on the podcast, look forward to similar guests on the show. đź‘Źđź‘Ť

Such a well spoken and respectful bloke, fair play to him for being so honest. That Fulham run to the europa league final was one of my fave footy moments ever. Big up DM
  • I think Danny is up there with the small number of great pundits out there. He makes a lot of sense, doesn't window dress what he says, and if he doesn't know or have an opinion on something, he's honest about it. He's a real, genuine person who's in the game for the right reasons. I found myself coming for the football insights and stories but leaving having learned a lot about what it means to grow up, go through some struggles, and emerge a much wiser and ultimately happy and contented person. I listen to him whenever he's on Talksport

December 2000, Old Trafford. I actually had emotions and tears of joy. United had some kind of a hold over us from 1996 Cup Final. We didn't really have a good record there, then comes up Danny Murphy. 1-0 and one of the longest closing stages of the 90. Thank you 🙂

Gets stick from some quarters, but I like him. Nice fella. This podcast continues to impress.
  • I’m a massive United fan, but I respect Danny Murphy because he’s not bias, he’s objective and tells it how it is. I like listening to him.
  • Brilliant interview. Danny Murphy was a stalwart for Liverpool. Bit sad to hear his bad experience with Benitez but new managers always have an idea what they want to do with a squad and maybe he didn't fit the immediate first choice squad profile. Because of his experience I think he can be a terrific ambassador for ex- footballers that can get into health and habit problems. YNWA Murphy

I remember when he came on Talksport & he was ace. Then he did the World Cup & he absolutely slated Neymar for diving & everyone was like it's superb to hear someone so raw & honest commentating for a change.

cant believe this channel doesnt have more subs, this is insane! I really enjoyed this Convo! Danny was one of the Gerrard Houllier era players I recall and loved watching. thats more or less the era when it was Finally easier for me to catch Premier league games living in the United States and every now and then they would show a Liverpool, Arsenal, Machester game mainly, but Alan Shearer's Newcastle was also broadcasted quite a lot. That Houllier era though, is the one that made me become a Liverpool supporter, thank you for giving us this Interview/opened talk and Thank you Danny for showing us a part of you not many of us are acquainted with! such an awesome Gentleman!
  • @NH-bz9jv
Danny Murphy is one of the best pundits there is, I listen when he talks. This was great viewing đź‘Ť

Played with Danny wayback when we were about 10 years old in Kingsway. He was by far our best player even at that age. This was a great listen đź‘Ť
  • Wow what a great interview. I have always loved Danny Murphy, his love for Liverpool FC is unwavering but the respect he showed for Fulham was great to see. But for me in this show he gave a great insight in to the humanity of how quickly mental health and addiction can hit anyone. I take my hat off to you Danny for being so honest about your thoughts that you would not be one of them people. I have worked in mental health and addictions for many years. The people I have treated that have been at the top of their world and said the very same. Thinking that “they” are the down and outs on a council estate. How wrong they are. Addiction grabs anyone. ❤ YNWA And on rules one thing that drives me insane is players in their own box with their hands behind their backs. How the hell can they move right to defend like that 🤯🤯🤯
  • This has been my favourite pod cast, I’ve been waiting ages to hear his story 👏🏻 class!
