In this video i wanted to take a closer look at the marvelous RSI Galaxy in Star Citizen.
Originally i didnt pick this ship up as i had numerous ships in my fleet which could do the same job.
Since then however i have downsized my fleet and needed a ship that was both easy to operate and versatile, enter the galaxy..This ship looks amazing and has great utility in the form of its modules and to add icing on the cake this ship will now b e able to build our space homes. This ship now ticks all the boxes for me and i truly cant wait for its release!
The Galaxy is a modular multirole ship manufactured by Roberts Space Industries. Focusing on versatility, the Galaxy is capable of equipping its crew to handle any task in the 'Verse.
Modularity
The Galaxy’s chassis is built around a configurable mid-ship space that supports interchangeable modules, empowering you and your crew to take on a wide variety of professional roles.
Hangar
One of the key features of the Galaxy is its rear hangar which has an 'XX-Small' landing pad. The hangar has a connecting doorway to the modular space. The hangar also provides space for 64 SCU of cargo. The 64 SCU cargo grids are 2x32 grids spaced at the edge of the hangar and do not interfere with the hangar metrics, allowing both an XXS ship and 64 SCU to be stored simultaneously.
Crew accommodations
The vehicle is designed to run with a crew of six, each with their own room, with the Captain having their own ready-room. There is a mess-hall and a recreation room with a pool table for relaxation.
Weapons
With three remote turrets (each equipped with two Size 5 guns) as well as two Size 4 missile hard-points (each carrying four Size 2 Missiles), the Galaxy can hit back hard when needed.

IAE is the best time of the year to hang out with friends and get hyped about internet spaceships. :D
  • @pigskinrode0
Love how it has that imperial ship kind of look from Star Wars.
  • @hectordiaz537
Exploration and colonization(base building) has always been a target for me with Star Citizen. Getting a small group of friends together and building yourselves a nice sized home away from home will be great
  • @joellouisfire
I'd like to see an exploration module with a T2 med bed, holotable/radar and some room for minor cargo or drones.
  • @gballsr
I picked up a galaxy when it first dropped, but I'm pretty much a solo player, now that I know it's a base builder I'm really loving it
  • @SmokeWiseGanja
we need more ships with a mid ship bridge. It's one of the reasons I got the Perseus, just looks so badass.
  • @julioreyes4698
I totally agree with you. I passed up on the Galaxy when it first came out but even so, I have kept it at the top of my list as a must get for it's small crew and it's versatility. Now that CIG has announced that it will also be able to build player bases and buildings, well, it's become a must have without questions.
  • @chrisajokinen
I suspect galaxy ownership will increase due to the base building feature. But I want to see what can be built without it or the Pioneer.

Hey there, love the video! I got a Galaxy for the Hospital, (as I mainly play medical - Pisces, Apollo, Cutlas Red, and now my Galaxy) The Fact it is also a Base Builder, it just the awesome cherry on top, as base building is my favriot pass time in ANY Game...
  • @OperatorD95
Picked up the Galaxy when it came out because it's just exactly my type of dream large ship with the modules, will give the opportunity to do a bit of everything and I love that. But now with base building... yeah I get even more excited as just like you, bases was what I really wanted as a end game loop that makes all the grinding worth it.
  • @bamtoday
Glad I picked up this beauty at launch without any of the announcement modules. Will definitely add a BB module when it gets released.

Congrats on picking one up PIN! I purchased mine for the refinery module believe it or not (my friends enjoy mining gameplay), and hoped the manufacturing module they mentioned in the ship's module specifications section on the Galaxy concept sale page would be related to base or component building (also my dream). The cargo module is also amazing - more than people realize! If you go to seaport and you see those cranes grabbing and loading containers, imagine how fast you can load out containers in the Galaxy. Ignoring the rear compartment, we can carry 16 of the 32 SCU containers to make up the 512 SCU. The cargo lift can take down two at a time they said, which means lightning fast container delivery to outposts and other locations. I believe it's the very best internal storage cargo bay of any ship in star citizen (for moving containers specifically) in the game. :) Edited to reflect location of manufacturing module reference for accuracy.

First time I've watched one of your videos and that was an easy click to subscribe. I enjoy level headed discussion without exaggerated theatrics or wild speculation. You give a good presentation of facts and reasonable consideration of future development. Also nice editing with the script and images, something a lot of other Star Citizen creators aren't making efforts in lately. Instead they just roll clips and voice over the images despite them not matching the point(s) being discussed very well or not at all. I appreciate the effort to match visuals with the dialog.

Base building is the best planned gamme feature for me too. Gonna be alot more fun working on my bases instead of the 20th ship im buying

what I got from listening to CIG through the years about the economy. Is that it have to be fun. For solo players getting solo ships, it should be relative easy, but you always got that end game ship, like F8C type. The player should be able to get relative easy, a duo or triple crew ship. But after that it's a org level to get one, or many many hours. They don't want every player to get a Idris.. But I'm not sure tmit would be only the price, or how much money you are able to get per hour. It's more about the complexity, you need fuel, ammo, supplies, spare parts, crew to be efficient or be able to protect yourself. And the job to get all of this into your ship. And the death of the Spaceman. If you lose your ship, everything on it is gone. Your rare alien jump drive, your vanduul ship canon f.ex. and your character is also dead, only be able to resurrect an finite amount of time. And each time be less of the original. And I haven't mentioned how Quanta can also play a part of this. This will put real constraints, on your choices in the game. You actually are risking everything. So CIG has many ways to affect how players can get shipsz and use them.

I already own a Pioneer, but I had also purchased a Galaxy at concept release for the refinery and the (hopefully real this time) modularity. My very first entry into SC was the RSI Constellation (before they had variants) but I had actually drifted away from RSI as a manufacturer in my ship choices because I wasn't really liking the look of them compared to others like Origin and Crusader Industries. That said, the Galaxy looks pretty nice and the functionality seems rather unique.

Star Citizen's RSI Galaxy a true multi role base building ship! I think since the announcement that this ship will now have base building capabilities it has become a very significant ship for many players. It looks fantastic, has xxs hangar, modules, and a respectable crew size. This ship will prove to be very useful for the solo star wanderer and large orgs alike. I for one will be adding the galaxy to my hangar! But what do you guys think? Are you pleased by the base building? Do you like the thought of the modules? As always let me know down below!!
  • @pieman6752
First vid I have seen from your channel, definitely gonna stick around for more! I can't wait to have my galaxy, and the base building news from citcon made me want it out now even more.
  • @Verinia
I'm in the same boat. Can't wait for base building!
  • @adamdonovan8731
Base building / player housing is one of my favourite things in mmos, so its right up there near the top for me. I did own a Pioneer for a while, but like yourself, I concluded it was just too big a ship for my needs. I actually picked up the Galaxy at concept for the medical module but was extremely excited to see the construction module teased during the concept. Suffice to say, confirmation at this year's CitCon put a big ol' smile on my face!
