Probably one of the ships I'm most excited about, perhaps even more than the Polaris and galaxy.
  • @Cal-Mac
Being on the bridge and seeing that massive S7 turret in front of you slew round to a target before unleash its rounds will be quite an experience I think!

I've loved the look and feel of the Perseus ever since we first got our glimpse of it. Sleek angles meets abundant power -- brilliant.

My favorite RSI ship by a lightyear. It's the shape. Absolutely dig it.
  • It's my dream ship. My favorite ship in Elite dangerous was the Federal Corvette. This thing has Federal Corvette energy. I feel like I'm just waiting for this one ship to go live lol..... none of the other ships matter to me. Some day.... some day...

IMO if you want to have a great impact use a Perseus and 2 Retaliators. The Retaliators have enough turrets for any fighter/bomber group and the size 9 torps along with the Perseus size 7 ballistic cannons, will give most capitol ships nightmares.

Now all they have to do is add a couple of more small turrets, to remove the intentional weaknesses they introduce into most of their ships. IRL, they didn't introduce the A10 Warthog with two barrels instead of seven, to "balance" the battlefield. They could accomplish what they're attempting to accomplish with different shield strengths and/or designs, different ship speeds, etc., vs. limiting weapon coverage, etc. That would make more logical sense, IMO.

Great synchronization Farrister , I was recently watching your video of the polaris. Huge job as always and thank you so much for sharing these videos with us ;)
  • @snaggletoof1927
Excellent video! I appreciate that you throw in some game history and lore as well. I like larger (but not quite capital size) ships. Can't wait to see this in game. That is for the video, Farrister!

Lets not forget the Thundercloud paint scheme. Granted, it is a bit pricey at around £20, but seriously, what an awesome paint and totally befitting a ship of this nature. Perfect for the flagship of any small battlegroup.

really thoroughly enjoy these 'lore' videos, of which you do with such high quality and in interesting manner, while mixing it in with realistic side factual info to accompany the game lore and the specs, cost and role etc really look forward to more videos :) thanks Farrister 🙂
  • @McBackBacon
I really do love the concept of this ship, I am seriously biting at the bit to get this thing flying. Really looking forward to seeing what she can do. Thanks for the info Farrister, keep them coming buddy !!
  • @ilias6443
This is probably the one ship i want the most. You can man it with a small crew, basicly you you and some of your frinds, wich i imagine really fun. And it looks cool. And finally : Big guns, big fun.
  • Love the Drydock series, thanks for making it! I especially liked your point at 11.04, that a capital ship wouldnt likely lose to a single Perseus was a solid insight.
  • @Falcon52
Loving this new Drydock series. Keep up the good work!
  • @crazyeyecarl
This would be my Flagship. Looks like a big boat with big guns. This is the biggest, and most expensive ship I plan on getting. Love it.
  • @NarrowDipShit
As a WW2 warship enthusiast the Perseus is just so amazing to me. Cant wait to see where it goes during whiteboxing
  • @Rgraceful1
We have A Kraken , Polaris, BMM , 2 Liberator , 2 redeemers , and a handful of other ships but the Perseus is the ship I look forward to flying and fighting the most .
  • @gittyupalice96
I like the Perseus because from what I understand its sort of like a 2023 Camaro or Mustang... uses the spirit of the original 60's cars, but with modern power and handling... In otherwords, the Perseus that we will get in game, is the modern interpretation of the classic ship, like the Zues mark 2. This variant will include a drop down cargo elevator like the Connies that can fit an Ursa rover ( if not the exact elevator out of the connie knowing how cig likes to do things. ) But anywho, it seems like a tank of a ship that would be perfect for going way way out into a sketchy area to look for something not knowing what trouble you may find, possibly throw a Fury or two in it for if you come across an annoying Gladius and Mantis combo.

I feel the Perseus will also excel at supply/logistics disruption/harassment. Big enough to be a major threat to those industrial/logistics ships, whilst also having a very modest crew requirement. You can use 3-4 crew assets to disrupt a large array of operations behind the lines. This will require assets to peel off from the main engagement zones to hunt you down. If they don't send enough you destroy them and keep at you main job. And if they do send enough to deal with you, bail. Relocate and start again. A great use of 1 ship and 4 crew assets for an org.
