DIY Golf: Hitting Mat

Published 2022-08-12
In this first Golf DIY video we make a 2' x 3' golf mat to be able to practice off of. Materials were sourced from Home Depot and will be listed below. Mat works great and won't tear up your clubs! Also, net was acquired from Walmart and is linked below.

Happy Practicing!

  • Love it man, I noticed rubber just a little thicker at tractor supply on sale this week. Defiantly gonna give this a go! Forget dropping big money on a mat when you can do this!

that test with putter from tee xd
  • @TG-821
How is this holding up to irons and wedge shots? Any tears in the turf?
  • @jyoon311
How’s the turf holding up? Looking to do this but curious about the longevity of the turf
  • @spfunk8812
If you flip mat over after gluing the pressure from backing should be enough
  • @DetVen
3:38 - That stuff is thick and you just barely nipped the top off of the funnel cap leaving a tiny hole for it extract from. All you had to do was cut off more of the cap and it's also good practice to do this on a slight angle. When it's squeezed out, make sure the open end it facing down toward the surface.
  • Not bad! I just worry that these are not soft enough to limit the strike force and injure your wrists/hands.
  • I'm considering doing this. How has the mat performed and held up over the year?
  • @chrisplusplus
I’m not trying to be a negative Nancy here but…. If you use this your joints are going to suffer. Go ahead and try it for a few months

So I tried this with the same materials, and apparently this guy was full of shit, the glue doesn’t stick at all to the mat. You would have to order some glue from Amazon just to have a chance in the glue sticking to the turf
