In elementary school, around Thanksgiving, we spent a day learning about the pilgrims and what life was like back in colonial times and our teacher showed us how to churn butter. She asked if any of us had seen this process before and I proudly raised my hand and told the whole class that I churned butter every day after school. I had everyone convinced that my family never went to the store and produced all our own food at home. Flash forward to the next school assembly and my mom, who just so happened to be an old friend of my teacher at the time, approached her to say how cool it was that we were so self sufficient and my mom was understandably confused. That's when it came out what a compulsive liar I was lol but on the ride home my mom was just so confused. Why did I lie about churning butter of all things? How does that even make me look cool? Kids are stupid lol
