Had to record todays video on my laptop so things may sound different! 🙂

I wish liquids could flow freely through grates, that would be really unique. The copper lamps will be really useful for logic gates and such

It's so great that we're starting to see Gnembons influence being added to the base game! A real hero for the technical community!

That freeze command is extremely useful in MANY situations. The first one that came to my mind was taking screenshots. We can now pause the game exactly where we want it and have the luxury of moving around, trying different angles, changing shaderpacks and resource packs, even closing the game and coming back to it later. Insane.

I love we can just feel gnembons power in mojang, the /tick command is straight from his carpet mod!

I feel like the new copper blocks (i.e. Door and trapdoor) should be crafted using the copper ingots, making them more in line with iron. It feels less intuitive to use entire blocks like that for a metal block.

The new tuff blocks are gorgeous. I know some people complain about the number of grey blocks in the game, but I’m always happy to get more.

I think the copper doors and trapdoors should be locked when powered and unlocked when unpowered, or toggle like the bulb. It would be such a great addition, it would match with the copper bulb, and it would make the lock on the door make sense.

I've said this before but i think copper grates should allow water and lava to pass straight through them as if they aren't there, and possibly items as well. It's be interesting if they acted as a solid floor for entities but when those entities drop something, it falls straight through without the need for a hopper if you just want those items to fall straight through to whatever happens to be below them and just sit there, or a block that water can pass items through but entities will be stopped by if the water pushes them through.

One thing you did miss mentioning is that an observer can detect the red light in the center of the bulb turning off. So an observer notices every time it gains or loses power regardless of whether it is off or on, while a comparator detects the on/off state. Combine this with the fact that it's pushable and this thing will be a seriously versatile redstone component.

I really hope the Copper grates can allow water through in the future, because it would be... GRATE... for item farms and more.

I am loving this update because it is so usable for everyone; builders, redstoners, and explorers, not just explorers like some previous updates.
  • The new tick rate commands could be perfect for datapacks that simulate night time passing quickly whenever you go to bed instead of immediately switching to day
  • @keithtwombley
omg gnembon is slowly pulling carpetmod into vanilla!!!!
  • @MegaChickenfish
I like the idea of using those lamps as a togglable light source that's really compact but also using it as a compact flip-flop could definitely help me with redstone.
  • @MiniGunTurtle36
As a bedrock player it was weird seeing changes like “enderpearl sounds” and arrows retaining their type on pickup, as those were in bedrock for years
  • @Kennylotl
i was really hoping the copper doors and trapdoors would be able to be opened and closed by hand when unpowered, but get locked when powered. it's unfortunate that they're just a reskin of wooden doors, but they're still a very welcome addition anyway!

The bat update makes me really hopeful for more updates to old mobs and animations. I’m guessing if that is their plan they did the bat first to test the communities reaction as the bat is not a super beloved mob so it’s a good way to ease the community into the change. Maybe it’s something we’ll see over the course of a bunch of minor updates. (Or maybe none of this will happen and we just have a cool new bat, that would be okay too)
  • @TheLastBawa
The /tick command is insane for making origins for the Origins mod, time-based origins were very limited before, now they have so many possibilities!
  • @psinjo
What if the copper grate could allow water to pass through it, but still be solid for players? Idk if this is feasible in the current engine, but I think it could be really cool to use pistons and grates to control water flow around your base! then it could also update if water passes through it? So we could get an observer tick by moving water!? First redstone, then leafstone, now water stone? Not sure if we're summoning Captain planet or creating the Minecraft avatar to do battle against the evil Herobrine?
