A Superman movie that returns to the boy-scout, optimistic, honest, good, and righteous Superman would be, I think, difficult for modern audiences to fully embrace straight away. And perhaps, that's why we need him now more than ever.

we need a superman movie that isn’t afraid to be a superman movie!
  • Superman is for everyone. When written correctly can pull from every emotion from everyone. Doesn’t know his family, adopted, immigrant, alone, cares and empathizes and understands every complex human struggle because they are his own all the same

There's nothing embarrassing or outdated about Superman's morals and ideals. Marvel embraced it with Captain America in over 7 movies and he's one of the most popular characters in movies now. WB needs to get out of their own way and stop making the Superman "angsty" in an attempt to make him "relatable".
  • It's crazy how we get more Batman media than superman. Superman is the godfather of superheroes and he gets seen as lame and unreadable but that couldn't be farther from the truth.
  • @JTISREBORN
Everything is so cynical nowadays. The world needs a hopeful and optimistic character like Superman completely devoid of cynicism. A truly aspirational hero that can guide the world to be better.
  • I love how you covered Reeve, Henry, Tyler and Tom's different portrayal of Clark/Supes but still confirmed they are all Supermen. Great message for us all.

Completely agree. It's why Evil Superman stories are just such an agonizing turn off for me. They're just so tiresome and feel like an easy way out, an easy way out Superman doesn't take, and it's what makes him so compelling. We need tried and true good Superman. A great movie and a passionate video game like Insomniac's Spider-Man are long standing hopes of mine to see come true.

TRUE AND BASED. If we get a Batman movie that perfectly captures the character, surely we can have a Superman movie in the same vein. In the same universe? I'd love that. Edit: people seem to be really weirded out by the idea that grounded detective movies and campy alien movies could exist in the same universe and still work together. Clearly never read DC Comics.

I just recently rewatched X-Men : First Class and only began to truly admire what Matthew Vaughn did to Erik and Charles there. Crafting a soulful brother-in-arms story that wasn’t afraid to dig deep into the heart of the characters as well as crafting a stylistically fun and upbeat superhero movie along the way. Since he’s been one of the biggest fan favorites in directing a Superman movie for a while now, consider this to be my support for him as well

This is why I love the flashback scenes in Superman and Lois’ first season. He’s everything Superman is. Hopeful, optimistic, caring, etc. “Nice suit!” “Thanks! My mom made it!”.
  • Remember that first teaser for Man of Steel? Clark as a kid with the red blanket draped down his back; billowing in the wind. He puffs out his chest and he puts his fists to his waist. That was really powerful to me, it filled me with this peaceful timelessness, that hope and bliss and Human. It was beautiful - that’s what superman should be. He should make us want to achieve that better tomorrow. Thank you, Hi-Top. Great video, once again!

The way we’ve been in the Age of The Superhero on film for nearly two decades now and THE superhero is just…an afterthought. A guy with nothing but mixed reception and strange, cold, alienating characterization. Baffles me that kids haven’t been able to go to a movie theater and see a Superman for them since 2006.

Superman needs to be revived as a symbol of hope. Not just some alien that happens to have superpowers. I want to everyone look at superman the way I do. I want him to truly feel like a HERO again. A hero who can inspire and does what he does because it's the right thing to do

Dr Manhattan (someone who could exist anywhere, everywhere, at all points in all timelines, someone who existed in every universe-) said something deeper than any of us could, which was that the universe could exist without himself- Dr Manhattan. But that the universe can't exist the same way without Superman, it needs Superman- because he's the universe's only hope in every timeline. Dr Manhattan said without Superman- there can be no hope. Because even if Superman is weaker, outmatched, outplayed, not as smart, or outnumbered- he's fighting with more determination than anyone else. The determination to find hope. To find the light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how far that beacon of light is, or even if he can't see it- he believes that if he keeps pushing he'll find that light. Superman is OUR light at the end of the tunnel.

Trust me, Superman is the most inspiring superhero of all time and he deserves a movie that will present his essence correctly. He needs a film which will give you motivation to become a better human being
  • @thesuperframe
Completely agree. It was my desire for a superman movie, a return to optimism, to altruism that made me make a similar video. I think the world needs superman, if stories like Kingdom Come has taught us anything, when the world loses its values, superman shines brightest, his values, sense of heroism and humanity shines all the more brighter against the cynicism of todays world.
  • Honestly in today’s world we need something positive or something that can still show that hope still exists. If they make a Superman movie make him relatable. Make us see what he has to deal with day to day. The ups and the downs and have us connect with him emotionally and see how he overcomes it. I’d love to cry in a theater watching an emotional but hopeful Superman movie.
