  • Hello dr v, we didn't know much about using sunscreen before this year and my mom suffered from extreme hyper pigmentation as a result. She has to cook and stand next to a stove with the blazing sunlight coming from the window right in front of the table top. She has been consistent with her skin care, and uses a good vit c serum in the morning along with a silicone based water resistant mineral sunscreen (her face sweats a lot, she has oily skin but i think the excessive sweating can also be a result of menopause and obviously the humid bombay weather). She usually gets very tired to wash her face the second time at night but i try my best to motivate her. I gave her a kojic acid and other ingredients that fight pigmentation cream(a pharmacy based product) and retinol serum along with a ceramide and peptide based moisturizer. Her skin makes great progress in winter but all is lost as soon as the weather changes. She also gets puffy eyes. She has become very pessimistic about the whole skin care game and thinks that her skin will only improve if we move to a colder region of india or abroad which is sadly not possible (her skin improved a lot in just 5 days when we visited a snowy region). Could you please recommend something? She has been pretty much consistent since 2 years. She has worked so hard to provide for us and it just sad to see her feel bad about her skin.

My mom is suffering from melasma for a while now and I'm trying to help her through the information from your book. The way you explain things makes it so easy to understand 😆 It's really helpful since there are not so many people talking about treating melasma for people with skin of color like us

Dr V we need a serum full of tyrosinase inhibitors without the retinol for off days! Also can you please review geek and gorgeous?

Hi dr V, I'm wondering if you'll be posting more behind the scenes at your skincare manufacturing units, it'll be really interesting to see how our favourite products actually come to life

I thought FEELING it in action was my imagination!! lol. Thanks for your information. At 71 I had just given up, since it does run in the family. Now I will be more pro-active. Bookmarking this video.

It’s great to see someone care about skin of colour..but where are the videos showing the effects ? Info on how long to see good results? Before and after? Results of the studies she has done? Comments suggest that her products don’t work.

Hi Dr V Rattan Thank You for all you do for Skin Of Colour. I so appreciate to be able to use your product as inzincable & daily range for my skin. It did mention I purchased the melasma glasses and they were stolen with my car. I would like to purchase them again. But I have a slim and smaller face. But would only purchase if you ever made smaller sized melasma glasses. I would happily purchase. Thank You. 😊

Dr V I love u and ur work . Please put a skin care routine with products available for us in India - preferably from nykaa . Need a routine for acne and hyperpigmentation

Hello Dr V ❤ which of these ingredients can be used during the day time..... Peptides, azaelic acid, ferulic acid, resveratrol, alpha arbutin ??
  • @JH-yg5oo
I would really like for you to do an updated Naturium review, if you are able to. Since there has been so many products released.
  • Thank you Dr V, I was considering hydroquinone treatment but I was concerned because I struggle with eczema and skin irritations around the area of my melasma and I didn’t want to use such a harsh product. I recently started to use retinal and it was improving by skin texture soo much I didn’t want to stop. So your suggestion of taking things slow in a multilayered approach is I think a better option for me thank you for teaching me

Hi Dr V, I have sun damaged melasma and used your cream, however there wasn’t much noticeable difference until I used Dermatica’s products and in less than three months, my melasma in the zygoma area and upper lip have significantly improved. Thank God for DERMATICA.

Thanks for offering your expertise so freely. I would like your perspective on hair removal creams on skin of color. They seem to be the only way for me to shave without bumps and ingrown hair.
  • @feji7994
hey dr v could you please recommend a routine that someone can use when their face is darker than their body. What kind of hyperpigmentation is that?
  • @tostamixtabifana97
Dear Dr V, Thank you for your incredible work. It’s so, so helpful. You mentioned that skin of colour should avoid Infrared. Please could you elaborate in a video about light? Sun, infrared, LED masks etc? Can we use these if SPF is applied? I am keen on infrared saunas for their purported health benefits but a comment you made that we should avoid them has me rethinking! Gratitude and love ❤🙏🏻
  • @Sava-tb9ue
Great video as always! If you can expand the topic when it comes to body hyperpigmentation and how to treat it, please
  • @CloverDragonsLuv
Hi Dr. V., can you make a video with the best vitamins that might help with melasma please 🙏🏼.
