hi!! I'm sure most of us have heard at least something about J.K. Rowling's recent tweets. Do you think they were transphobic?? These are my OPINIONS :)

As a trans man it really pisses me off that she constantly implies I'm trying to escape the reality of being a woman because it's so 'horrible'. My life is NOT easier now as a trans man than when I presented as female. I experience much more fear, many more strange looks, and a lot more discrimination than I did before. There's people in my DMs being transphobic and misogynistic while tryna fuck, my relationships with so many people simply ended Girl, I'm just a man, I adore women but I'm not one, and it would have been miles easier to remain aligned with my assigned sex at birth. I had already done the work of dismantling the expectations of women before I accepted I was trans She is blinded by terror & disgust for trans people, I truly think so

I'm so tired of seeing people "confuse " trans women with predators Like wtf

I love and support trans people and non-binary people. I’m a gay woman. We are all human, we all deserve to be treated like one. All lives matter!

Proud Parent of a 20 year old college student who is trans. We have been on this road together for over 6 years now. Loved how you covered this topic. JK makes my eye twitch. Well done and now that I have found you, I clicked like and subscribe. Thank you for well delivered and damn well researched content.
  • To be clear, Rowling is afraid that men are going to go through a three month process to get a gender certificate so they can enter women's space? Um, there are easier ways. Like say, a $30 pair of work man's overalls. No one will question a repairman going into a women's washroom.
  • God J.K Rowling saying that being Trans is a fad sounds similar to what my parents told me when I came out saying that I was trying to fit into society with “fad”.

As a gay trans man, this whole "lesbian conversion therapy" theory is just comical
  • @ianjustus324
She makes it sound so simple to transition I can’t even get on T yet 😭
  • @huntera.4623
As a survivor, using our trauma to validate transphobia honestly makes me want to vomit.
  • @KitTheAnkafolk
Fun fact to build on what Samantha said as a response to Rowling acting as if transitioning wasn’t around in the 80s: The first person to medically transition was Danish transgender woman Lili Elbe in 1930, & her trans journey still remains one of the most influential & important for transitioning to this day! - Sincerely an enby catboy :3
  • "I can't pretend like I care too much about your bad opinion of me." She says as she posts several tweets about peoples' "bad opinions" of her.

If Samantha Lux was my lawyer I’d be extra excited to say: “You’ll be hearing from my lawyer.”
  • It's strange that her whole argument revolves around getting assaulted in women's bathrooms. Meanwhile, unisex bathrooms are being tried out with no significant problems, apparently. It seems like a non-issue in the first place. Funnily, I read how a hundred years ago, the first unisex lake bathing place (what's it called in English, lol?) was opened in Switzerland (Strandbad Weggis). Having women and men swim at the same beach, not separated by a wall as was then customary, was big news. And people came just to see this oddity and leer on women's bodies. Nowadays it's just completely normal to have these shared spaces. Do people really think that having men and women share the same spaces is really what causes assault and rape? I doubt it. It's our view on other people's bodies and our supposed entitlement to them that is the problem.
  • Every time I read the progression of her tweets and statements it feels like someone who had a reasonable idea at the very start and then kept spiraling down a rabbit hole of disinformation.

I am a survivor of child sexual abuse and sexual harassment and over and over in my life… All of these have been at the hands of cis men. Not a single transgender woman or man has ever hurt me in any way. How anyone could equate their ptsd of being assaulted by cis men to being around trans people seems like a really weird connection.
  • @CaspiRose99
Sexual assault isn’t a gendered issue either
  • PSA for the transphobia I keep seeing in this poor women's comment section. We don't think you're cool, edgy or funny in any way shape or form. Your hate isn't acceptable and it is not okay. So stop. Thanks! -Peter <3
  • I didn't know about transgender people. I googled them initially to defend J.K. because i was a fan then. Then i came across Jammidodger's transition video. And here i am, a trans ally, and i agree, J.K. was wrong in saying those things.
